11th November 2022, Dehradun: Tula’s Institute hosted a Talk Show with the renowned Indian actor, lyricist, playwright, musician, and screenwriter Piyush Mishra, within the college premises .The program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by all the present dignitaries, including Actor Piyush Mishra, Chairman of Tula’s Group Sunil Kumar Jain, Vice President of Tula’s Group Raunak Jain, Vice President of Technology Dr. Raghav Garg, Registrar Tula’s Institute Pawan Kumar Chaubey, Dean Dr. Nishant Saxena, Dr. Ranit Kishore, and Head Master Tula’s International School Mrigank Pandey among others.

Piyush Mishra commenced his session by sharing anecdotes about the legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. He spoke about how he wrote a play in 1994 on Bhagat Singh and how there are several facts about the freedom fighter which are missing in many of the books written about him. He said, “We don’t find many people like Bhagat Singh today. Out of all the freedom fighters, I respect him the most. The things that he went through and what he did for our country compelled me to write a play on him.”

Sharing his views on the emerging trend of OTT platform, Piyush said, “OTT platform is one of the most trending mediums of entertainment in today’s world. Thanks to OTT, countless individuals got a golden opportunity to showcase their talent on the big screen. Although the OTT has largely taken over, the trend of conventional films and theatrical releases will never fade away. It will always remain the evergreen medium of entertainment.”

Addressing the gathering, he shared a lesson with the students of Tula’s. He said, “As per my personal experience, I would always suggest the youngsters to stay as much away as possible from liquor. I have gone through a very bad phase in my life due to liquor, and I don’t want anyone else to go through the same.” He further said, “Another thing that one should never forget is to be forever respectful and grateful to your parents. You should clear all your differences, if you have any, with your parents before it gets too late. Otherwise, you will regret your entire life.”

Sharing his experience as an actor in Bollywood, Mishra said, “The most amazing experience that I had in the industry was while shooting for Gangs of Wasseypur. It was one of the best movies ever made, and I loved all my co-stars.” Adding further, he said, “Cinema was never a passion for me. It was an occupation; a mere source for earning money. My passion has always been theatre. I look forward to giving theatre lessons to aspirants in Dehradun.”

Piyush concluded the session by singing his famous song ‘Aarambh Hai Prachand’, and the audience happily sang along. He also shared his love for Dehradun and how the city has always been a relaxing retreat amid his busy life in Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President of Tula’s Group Raunak Jain said, “We’re glad to have such an eminent personality of the Bollywood industry, Piyush Mishra, among us. His session was a mixture of life lessons, poetry, songs, and funny anecdotes. Students of Tula’s had a great time during the session!” The talk show was hosted by the BJMC department of the college. Several hundred students of Tula’s Institute as well as Tula’s International School attended the talk show.
