Dehradun: UJVN Limited has been awarded the prestigious Best Performing Hydropower Utility Award by the Central Board of Irrigation and Electricity for its excellent work done in the field of hydropower. Shri Sandeep Singhal, Managing Director, UJVN Ltd. received the award by the hands of Minister of Power, Government of India Mr. R.K.Singh. On the occasion Mr. Sandeep Singhal, Managing Director of UJVN Limited, said that the Central Board of Irrigation and Power recognizes the departments, institutions and experts working in the field of water, power and renewable energy for their remarkable contribution in the respective areas.
He also informed that the high-level committee of the Central Board of Irrigation and Power, taking cognizance of the important and remarkable works done by the UJVNL in the past years and especially the remarkable power generation by Dharasu power house of Maneri Bhali II project. CBIP selected UJVNL as *Best Performing Hydro Power Utility* and it’s Dharasu Power Station was selected for *Best Performing Hydropower Project Award*. It is worth mentioning here that the 304 Megawatt Maneri Bhali II project located in the border district of Uttarkashi is the largest installed capacity and power production project of UJVNL and this project contributes significantly to the revenue of the corporation as well as the state.
Apart from this UJVN Limited’s Vyasi, Kali Ganga I and II projects were commissioned in past years as well as the works of 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project, also declared a national project, are also being started. Renovation, upgradation and modernization of power houses of various old hydropower projects have also been completed.
Expressing happiness over UJVN Limited receiving this prestigious award, Managing Director Mr. Sandeep Singhal, gave it’s credit to the nigam’s excellent work culture, efficient leadership and the dedication and hard work of the personnel. Mr Singhal hoped that the corporation will continue to do excellent work in the state and will take it to new heights in the field of energy.
