St. Joseph’s Academy celebrated 74th Republic Day

Dehradun: India’s 74th Republic Day was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Academy on 26th January 2023. The day’s proceedings commenced with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Major General A. V. Krishna (Retd.),  Rev Bro. Jeyaseelan – the Principal and Rev Bro. Astinus Kuzur – the Vice Principal and Rev. Bro. J. C. Carroll, .

 The programme started with Manvi Manglik singing Saraswati Vandana to mark the occasion of Basant Panchami, which was followed by an impressive dance in praise of Goddess Durga by the girls of classes viii and ix. Preksha Agarwal and Akshata Gupta delivered speeches in English and Hindi respectively to mark the significance of Republic Day and evoked a strong feeling of patriotism in one and all. A melodious rendition of patriotic songs like ‘Mera desh, mera mulk’ and ‘Ae watan..filled the audience with gusto and vigour .

Thereafter, Ayushman Mishra aroused a feeling of patriotism in everybody through the recitation of a beautiful hindi poem, ‘ Ae Bharat ke Ram jago’.

The students of class ix left the audience spellbound with their dance performance on the theme, Women Empowerment.

The Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. A. V. Krishna (Retd.) motivated the young Josephites to achieve their goals and turn their dreams into a reality through his speech which received a huge round of applause .

The programme culminated with a message by the Principal, Rev. Bro. Jeyaseelan who reiterated the importance of being a responsible citizen .
