Dehradun 7 August 2023: Sanjay Orthopedic, Spine and Maternity Center, Jakhan, Dehradun, Dr. Sujata Sanjay, Gynecologist and Obstetrician, honored by the President, organized a breastfeeding orientation webinars on World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7).
More than 150 medical, nursing students and teenage girls from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab participated in this public awareness lecture. In order to spread awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and to protect infants from malnutrition, Dr. Sujata Sanjay made aware of the importance of breastfeeding for pregnant women, mothers and nursing students under World Breastfeeding Week.

Three webinars, one seminar and two radio programs were organized by Dr. Sujata Sanjay and her hospital. Dr. Sujata told that mother’s milk is no less than nectar for the child. It is not only necessary for the all-round development of the baby, but it also benefits the mental and physical health of the mother. Mother’s milk is very important for the baby in the first hour after birth. Despite this, a lot of misconceptions are still spread among the people regarding breastfeeding. Even today there is a lack of awareness among people about the needs of breastfeeding. According to the UNICEF report, about 770 million newborns in the world or one out of every two babies do not get mother’s milk in the first hour.

This figure is very important for the infant mortality rate. Due to lack of mother’s milk for two to 23 hours, within 28 days from the birth of the child, the figure of mortality rate is 40 percent, while even after 24 hours, the death rate is due to lack of milk. This figure increases to 80 percent. The biggest reason for the death of new born babies in the country is also the non-feeding of mother’s milk. According to government statistics, 42.5 percent of children under the age of 5 in the country are malnourished and 69.5 percent are anaemic. Four out of 10 stunted children in the world are Indians. And about 1.5 million children under the age of five lose their lives every year in India.
Dr. Sujata Sanjay told the students about the importance of breastfeeding that motherhood is considered to be the completeness and meaningfulness of a woman’s life. This year’s theme is Breastfeed – Special Efforts for Working Parents. He told that breastfeeding is the right of every child. Office institutions need to be made aware about this, so that working women can breastfeed their children properly. If there is a provision of convenient breastfeeding room in every office according to the needs of working women, then the work efficiency of women employees can increase.

According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Report 2020, India has 20.33 per cent working women, out of which only 40 per cent working mothers are able to exclusively breast feed their children with breastfeeding till 6 months and complementary food till 2 years. If you want your child’s health to remain good, then you should include more turmeric in your diet. Breastfeeding women are benefited by the use of turmeric. The nutrients present in turmeric can protect you from many types of infections during breastfeeding, which will not have any negative effect on the health of the baby.

Dr. Sujata Sanjay said that mother’s milk is the perfect food for your baby. Mother’s milk is easily digestible, due to which it protects the baby from stomach problems. Breastfeeding helps control asthma and ear infections because breast milk makes the skin in the baby’s nose and throat resistant. Breastfeeding reduces the risk of diseases of the abdominal and respiratory tract, blood cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure in later stages of life. She said that it is the responsibility of all of us to cooperate fully with the mother in breastfeeding the baby and in this husband, family, society, work sector all should cooperate.

Dehradun, 4 Apr: Autism Awareness Week was organised by the Department of Pediatrics, Himalayan Hospital. Medical students were provided information about the identification and diagnosis of symptoms of autism.

A poster competition was organised in which MBBS undergraduate students participated. Post graduate students took part in a quiz regarding autism awareness.

Under an awareness campaign in the Department of Paediatrics, parents of admitted patients were informed about the symptoms of autism and methods of diagnosis. A drawing competition was held for children admitted in the ward.

The general public was made aware regarding various domains of autism and its early red flag signsc through a street play performed by the post-graduate students of the department. Dr Alpa Gupta and Dr Neerul Pandita, who were the facilitators of the programme, said that efforts should be made to make these children a part of society by not considering them as abnormal.

Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Saini said that, if there is any symptom such as the child does not play with other children, or interacts less with people, these could be symptoms of autism and a doctor needed to be consulted.

Brig Dr Joshi said it was a commendable effort to make the general public aware on the issue. Prof BP Kalra said that, following treatment and therapy of children with autism, they could lead a completely normal life. Dr Ruchira Nautiyal, Head of the Department of Gynecology, said that Autism Week is organised in the world to increase awareness of this disease among the people, following which many children are coming for doctor’s consultation.

Head of the Department Dr Anil Rawat said that the facilities of autism test and diagnosis are available at the Himalayan Hospital and people of Uttarakhand do not need elsewhere for this. About 100 students and parents were present along with Dr Sanober, Dr Nitika, Dr Rakesh, Dr Deepshikha, Dr Manju and Dr Sonam.

We therefore need Yoga to advance our consciousness, mind and soul towards divinity. Make meditation an
easy and happy one, else it will be a burden. Practice sadhana in such a way that others envy you. From thinking to feeling – take your intellect from Intuition to wisdom.

I wish that all of you achieve the highest state and God manifests himself to you.” Yog Guru Baba Ramdev ji said, “Today Pujya Daaji has given us his blessings and guidance. डॉ. इरफान ने कहा कि खासकर जिन लोगों को दिल की बीमारी है, उन्हें और भी सतर्क रहना चाहिए।

सर्दियों के मौसम में कम तापमान, वायु दाब, हवा और आर्द्रता जैसे विभिन्न कारक हार्ट के लिए दिक्कत पैदा कर सकते हैं। सर्दियों में हार्ट प्रॉब्लम का खतरा और मौसम से ज्यादा होता है। कोरोनरी आर्टरी डीजीज हार्ट प्राब्लम का प्रमुख कारण होता है, जिससे कि मरीज की हार्ट अटैक होने से जान भी चली जाती है। उन्होंने कहा कि सर्दियों के मौसम में हमारी हार्ट की आर्टरीज सिकुड़ जाती हैं, जो कि हार्ट अटैक का प्रमुख कारण होती हैं। इसके लक्षण छाती में दर्द, चक्कर आना होते हैं। इसलिए, धूम्रपान और मदिरा के सेवन का त्याग करना चाहिए।
डॉ. इरफान ने कहा कि हार्ट सेहतमंद रहे, इसके लिए जरूरी है कि वजन बीएमआई 25 से कम होना चाहिए, नमक और हाई कैलोरीज भोजन का सेवन कम से कम करना चाहिए। ताजे फल और सब्जियों का सेवन अधिक मात्रा में करना चाहिए। एन्जाइटी को दूर करने के लिए योग और एक्सरसाइज प्रतिदिन करना चाहिए।
इस मौके पर मेडिट्रीना अस्पताल के चीफ ऑपरेटिंग ऑफिसर डॉ. प्रवीण तिवारी ने कहा कि अस्पताल में हार्ट रोगों से संबंधित एंजियोग्राफी, एंजियोप्लास्टी, पेस मेकर, बायपास सर्जरी, वॉल्व रिपेयर एंड रिप्लेसमेंट आदि सभी अत्याधुनिक सुविधाएं उपलब्ध हैं।

देहरादून, 9 सितंबर: सूडान की 165 किलोग्राम वज़नी 60 वर्षीय महिला की विश्व प्रसिद्ध जॉइंट रिप्लेसमैंट सर्जन डॉ. विक्रम शाह और उनकी टीम द्वारा शैल्बी अस्पताल में दोनों घुटनों की सफल नी रिप्लेसमेंट सर्जरी की गई। सूडान की राजधानी खार्तूम की रहने वाली सामिया अहमद 2005 में एलीफेंटियासिस से संक्रमित हो गई थी, जिसे आमतौर पर हाथी पांव की बीमारी कहा जाता है। मच्छरों द्वारा फैलने वाली इस दुर्लभ स्थिति में प्रभावित व्यक्ति के पैर और हाथ असामान्य रूप से सूज जाते हैं। इस स्थिति के कारण उनका वजन तेजी से बढ़ने लगा। हमारे घुटने और कूल्हे के जोड़ पूरे शरीर का भार वहन करते हैं। मोटे व्यक्ति के घुटने और कूल्हे वजन के कारण तनाव में रहते हैं। इसके कारण घुटने का ऑस्टियोआर्थराइटिस (घुटने के जोड़ों का गठिया) बहुत मोटे लोगों में एक आम स्थिति है। शेल्बी अस्पताल के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक डॉ विक्रम शाह कहते हैं , सामिया के पैर में पहले भी दो फ्रैक्चर हुए थे। 2012 में उनके दाहिने पैर में उनकी निचली तीसरी टिबिया हड्डी (टखने से थोड़ी ऊपर की हड्डी) में फ्रैक्चर हुआ था और 2015 में उनके बाएं पैर में उनके प्रॉक्सिमल टिबिया (घुटने के ठीक नीचे की हड्डी) में फ्रैक्चर हो गया था। इसके लिए उन्होंने पहले पांच आर्थोपेडिक सर्जरी करवाई थीं। इनमें से दो सूडान में, दो यूएई में और एक मिस्र में करवाई गई थी। पिछले कुछ महीनों से वे बिस्तर पर ही थी और घुटनों में तेज दर्द और बेचैनी के साथ थोड़ा सा चल-फिर सकती थी। यह मामला अनोखा था, जिसने उनके घुटने के जोड़ों को गंभीर रूप से आर्थराइटिक बना दिया और इस प्रकार उन्हें नुकसान पहुंचाया। डॉ. विक्रम शाह कहते हैं, “हमने एक विशेष रिसर्फेसिंग टिबियल बेस प्लेट इम्प्लांट का उपयोग किया, जिसका विशेष रूप से तब उपयोग किया जाता है जब प्रॉक्सिमल टिबिया में पिछली सर्जरी में उपयोग किए गए इम्प्लांट से बाधा आती है। इस इम्प्लांट का भारत में पहली बार उपयोग किया गया हैं जिसका निर्माण अमेरिका में हमारी इम्प्लांट निर्माण यूनिट में होता है।" डॉ विक्रम ने बताया कि सामिया अहमद का नी रिप्लेसमैंट सफल रहा है। चूंकि वे अब चलने लगेंगी और चलने से होने वाले ब्लड सर्कुलेशन के कारण उनके हाथीपांव की तीव्रता में भी कमी आएगी, चलने-फिरने से उनके हाथीपांव की तीव्रता कम हो जाएगी।

Along with this daily having company packed namkeens,  chips , wafers and junk food items usually have high amount of salt which is very dangerous to eat.

If addiction of salty food goes on for long time  then it is usually affects our health and reduces our survival rate. In today busy schedule life parents instead of taking care of their children by spending more time with them usually provides heavy pocket money. This is also one of the main reason which is giving chance to young children to go spend more money on street food especially eating junk food.

Which is very bad for health? On regular basis having too much salty food is very dangerous like acid. It burns our internal organs. According to research all those people who regular eat homemade food they survives for long time.

Speaking to the media, Dr Mayank Nautiyal, Consultant & HOD- Liver Transplant and Gastrointestinal Surgery said, “Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver.

There are five main types of the hepatitis virus – A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis B and C lead to chronic disease in hundreds of millions of people globally, and together are the most common cause of liver cirrhosis, liver cancer and viral hepatitis-related deaths. Now effective vaccine is available for hepatitis B . 2 out of three 3 people do not know they are infected with hepatitis B.

Both Hepatitis B & C are leading causes of liver transplants and liver cancer. Hepatitis B can range from a mild illness, lasting a few weeks, to a serious, life-long (chronic) condition. More than 90% of unimmunized infants who get infected develop a chronic infection. 15%–25% of chronically infected people develop chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis, liver failure, or liver cancer.” Dr Mayank Gupta, Consultant – Gastroenterology added, “Globally more than 350 million people are still living with this life-threatening disease.

While there are evidence-based, effective and safe interventions to diagnose and prevent chronic hepatitis B and C, most people remain undiagnosed and untreated. Stigma and discrimination continue to be a barrier to testing and care. Only 10% and 21% of people know that they live with chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C respectively, even fewer receive treatment, and liver cancer related to hepatitis is on an exponential rise especially in low- and middle-income countries.

These colours can also adversely affect the nervous and reproductive system of expecting women says Dr.Sujata Sanjay, gynaecologist at Sanjay Maternity Centre, Jakhan, told. “Younger babies less than six month of the age are strongly suggested to stay away from the colours.

It’s best not to put any colours on babies, younger than six months because of their delicate skin. A red sandalwood tikka would be enough to ritualize and symbolically celebrate the festival.”Says Dr. Sujata Dr. Sujata Sanjay advises to take some precautions, so that the health of pregnant women does not deteriorate and the enthusiasm of the festival remains in them. She told that if precautions are not taken, there may be problems like premature birth, loss of baby’s weight during birth and miscarriage. She suggests that pregnant women can play with herbal colours, which are made from fruits and flowers. Holi, the festival of being immersed in colors, gathering, eating and drinking, and fun . Holi is celebrated everywhere. Everyone wants to get drenched in colours. But as much fun, jumping and hustle-bustle can be done by ordinary people on Holi, pregnant women have to be as careful.

If a pregnant woman is a little negligent in the fun of Holi festival, then her skin will be damaged and her unborn child may also suffer. Along with colors, water is also used a lot in the festival of Holi, due to which there is a risk of you falling ill. Remember, playing Holi is a form of entertainment. But pregnant women should keep in mind that now it is not only you, there is also a little life with you, which has to be taken care of. Dr. Sujata Sanjay clearly forbids the consumption of substances like alcohol. Although chemical-rich colors and adulterated sweets can be dangerous for anyone, pregnant women are advised to take special care; these things can prove to be harmful for both the pregnant woman and her unborn child.

If you are a new mom and get your baby breast-feeding, then you should also stay away from harmful chemicals with chemicals during Holi. This is because if these colors reach the baby’s body through your milk, then it can be fatal to the health of the newborn. Clean yourself completely after playing Holi. People sometimes use things like kerosene, nail paint remover to clean the colors, but you do not need to do anything like this. You can also use gram flour to remove the colours, which is completely natural. If someone has put a wet or chemical dye on you, wash your face immediately with clean water. Use only herbal ingredients to remove the colours. If there is irritation, dryness and pimples on the colored skin, then get it checked by the doctor. Protect your eyes from color and gulal.

You’ll need dumbbells (5 to 10 lb for women, 10 to 20 lb for men), a workout mat, and running shoes.
Do the cobra pose. This is a popular yoga pose that stretches and strengthens the chest, shoulders, and upper and lower back:[1]
Lie face down on the mat, with your elbows bent and hugged in at your sides, and your hands palm down, in line with or underneath your shoulders. Your legs should be stretched straight back, with the tops of your feet flat against the floor.
As you inhale, slowly straighten your arms to list your chest off the floor. As you do this press the tops of your feet and thighs, and your pelvic bone into the floor.
While your chest is lifted your tailbone should draw down towards your pelvic bone, and your stomach should be firm. Your buttocks should be firm but not flexed to the point that they are hard.
Draw your shoulders away from your ears so that your shoulder blades melt down your back. You should feel a lift through your sternum, without your front ribs pushing forward. Think of the back bend as being distributed evenly along your whole spine.
Hold this pose for 15 to 30 seconds. If you feel comfortable with it, you can lift your legs up as well. For an added punch, you can lift your arms off the floor and hold them straight out in front of you, moving into a superman pose.
Exhale as you return to your starting position (lying face down on the mat), then repeat 9 more times (for 10 reps total).Tone your upper back with shoulder shrugs. Grab a dumbbell in each hand and stand with good posture. Your feet should be hip-width apart. Throughout this exercise your arms should hang naturally at your sides.
Lift your shoulders towards your ears, as though you are shrugging. Hold for 3 seconds, and then slowly lower them back down.
Repeat with 2 sets of 10 repetitions.Do kneeling reverse flies.These will help tone and build muscle in your back, arms, and abs:
Kneel on all fours, being sure to keep your hands aligned under your shoulders, and your knees aligned under your hips. Hold a dumbbell in each hand.
Flex your abs (this will pull your stomach in and make it feel firm), and then steady yourself in preparation for lifting your right arm out to the side.
Keeping a slight bend in your elbow and your palm facing down, lift your right arm out to the side until it is even with your shoulder.
Lower the arm back down slowly, and repeat 14 times (for a total of 15 reps) before switching to your left side.
Do 2 sets of 15 reps on each side.Do the bird dog exercise.[4] This will help work your upper and lower back, as well as your legs and core. You don’t need weights for this exercise.
Get on all fours, with your knees aligned under your hips and your hands aligned under your shoulders. Your neck should be long, with your face (and eyes) pointed downward. Make sure you feel steady and that your weight is evenly distributed between your arms and knees.
Tense your ab muscles as you slowly slide your right leg backwards and lift it off the floor so that it is straight out behind you, at a height that is in line with your hips and back.
At the same time as you lift your right leg, lift your left arm up and hold it out straight out in front of you.
Hold the position for 10 seconds before slowly returning your arm and leg to the ground.
Repeat with the right arm and left leg. Alternate the sides so that you have between 5 and 12 reps on each side.
Your back should stay in the same position (straight, not dipped or hunched) during the entire exercise. If you can’t hold it steady while you raise your arm and leg, start with just the legs until you’re feeling more secure.
Once you’ve mastered this, you can try the challenging bird dog plank variation, in which you lift opposite arms and legs while in a plank position (as opposed to being on your hands and knees).Don’t forget about the classics. Classic moves like pushups, planks, and sit-ups will help build your core, improve your posture, and strengthen and tone your back.
You might even do these during some of your breaks at school or the office, if you can find a quiet place to do them.
You can do wall pushups (a standing variation of floor pushups) just about anywhere.Go swimming. Swimming is great because it gives you a cardio workout while strengthening and toning your muscles.
