Ex Army Servicemen celebrated their 91th Founders day

Dehradun: Ex Army Servicemen belonging to 7th Jammu Kashmir Rifles (7 JAK RIF) celebrated their 91th Founders day with full enthusiasm. This program was held under the supervision of Subadar Retd Captain Dinesh Kumar Pradhan, President of Ex Army Servicemen at one of local hotel situated near Rajpur Road. While addressing the gathering he also recalled the golden memories of Paltan during his times. He also said that our paltan was founded and established on 9th March 1932 under the supervision of Lt Gen Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Bahadur.

During that era Lt. Col Bakshi Chand Katoch was IDSM first commanding officer. In year 1947-48 our paltan was also honoured by title of Battle of Honor of Punch Jammu and Kashmir. Awards aqquired by our Paltan were IDSM-2, Mahveer Chakra-1(after independence), Kirti Chakra-1, Ati Vishisht Sewa Medal-2 Veer Chakra-1 Shaurya chakra-4,Yudh Sewa Medal-3 Sena Medal-3,Uttam Yudh Sewa Medal-1,Vishisht Sewa Medal-3, Chief Of Army Staff Prasansha Patra-37, and various other more than 70 medals have bravely acquired by our paltan.

In our Paltan 50 trained Dogra, 25 trained Gorkha, 25 trained Muslim soldiers are equipped who all are combination of unity and integrity of India and we are fully proud of our paltan. Others present during this program were Col SS Alhawat, Col MMS Mehnas, Col SS Sahran, Col Manoj Patel, Lt.Gen Amit Kalia, Major Rautela, Captain Jha, Retd Captain Hari Rai, Retd Captain Vijay Rana, Retd Captain Surendra Chetri and many others were present.
