S.M.I.H Doctor to represent India at International Cancer Society Committee

Dehradun: Dr Pallvi Kaul who works as a cancer surgeon at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital has been appointed as a steering committee member of European Society of Surgical Oncology and European Young Surgeons Alumni Group (EYSAC). This is a matter of great pride for India and Dehradun as she is the only Asian doctor selected in this committee. The Chairman of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj congratulated Dr Pallvi Kaul for her ‘outstanding achievement’ and showered his divine blessings on her.

He expressed confidence that Dr Pallvi Kaul would continue to serve cancer patients with utmost sincerity, empathy and dedication. Dr Pallvi Kaul is a native of Jammu. She completed her cancer surgery training AIIMS Rishikesh and has been working in Shri mahant Indiresh Hospital for over one year now. Dr Pankaj Garg, Head of the Department of Cancer Surgery informed that she specializes in head and neck cancers and has been working relentlessly for the cancer patients. She is also actively engaged in cancer research and cancer awareness programs.

The European Society of Surgical Oncology was established in 1981. More than 20,000 members have been associated with this society. The mission of this society is to promote the study, research and treatment of Cancer so that the maximum number of patients can benefit the world over. The ESSO Young Surgeons and Alumni Club (EYSAC) was established in ESSO Congress held at Bordeaux on 17
September, 2010, in order to provide guidance to new doctors. Nine representatives from various countries were selected for its steering committee and Dr Pallvi Kaul is the only member from Asia.
