Dehradun: On 11-12 th November 2022, Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences organised a Two Days Workshop on Introductory Course on Research Methodology & Biostatistics in collaboration with Institute of Applied Statistics under the Dr. Padam Singh Research & Development Scheme. The workshop was inaugurated by lamp lighting by Honourable Vice Chancellor, and Principal Patron for the event, SGRR University Dr. Prof. U.S. Rawat, Registrar, SGRR University, Dr R.P. Singh, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Patron for the workshop, Dr. Yashbir Dewan, Guest Speaker, Former Scientist F& Coordinator Clinical Trials Registry-India (CTRI), National Institute of Medical Statistics, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, Dr. Atul Juneja, , National Coordinator of Dr Padam Singh Research & Development Scheme & Deputy Director, Institute of Applied Sciences, Dr.Shubham Pandey, Vice Principal & HOD, Deptt. Of Community Medicine, SGRRIM&HS and Patron, State Institute of Applied Statistics, Dr. Puneet Ohri, and Organizing President of the Workshop and Dean, SGRR University College of Nursing, Prof. G Ramalakshmi, Organising Secretary of the Workshop and Dean, SGRR University School of Paramedical Sciences, Dr. Malvika Singh, Dean Research SGRR University, Dr Lokesh Gambhir, , State Coordinator, Dr. Padam Singh Research & development Scheme, Dr Shalki Mattas and senior faculty members of medical, paramedical and nursing college.
This was followed by the starting of two days workshop which was attended by senior faculty members of SGRR University and more than 130 undergraduate nursing and paramedical students of SGRR University. This was the third workshop in a series of workshops which will be organised under this scheme throughout the year. While addressing the gathering over the occasion, Dr Yashbir Dewan appreciated the organizing of the workshop and expressed deep gratitude towards Honourable Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University & Chief Patron of the Workshop, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj for his divine blessings and encouragement in conducting such educational events which focus on the importance of gaining knowledge about how to conduct research and how it is important for all medical branches including nursing courses and paramedical courses. Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. U.S. Rawat said that this Workshop will provide a unique impetus for the faculty and students of SGRRU and all other attendees with unique exposure and understanding of Research Methodology. This was followed by informative interactive workshop sessions taken by Dr. Atul Juneja and Dr. Shubham Pandey which will be beneficial to the students and faculty to understand the concept of Research methodology.
