Dehradun: Nanhi Dunya (The International Movement of Children and their Friends) is a place of festivals where all the festivals related to mankind are celebrated with enthusiasm and bliss. Keeping up with the tradition, ‘Holi Utsav’ was celebrated at Nanhi Dunya, Mother House. All the guests experienced pleasure in seeing the tradition of celebrating festivals in natural, creative, and simple ways. The celebration of Holi began with the fusion of colours and music where young artists made beautiful abstract paintings. Nanhi Dunya was artistically decorated by Satvika Goyal, Rahul, Aditi, and many more) with handmade natural articles of craft-like butterflies, kites, and colourful earthen pots which gave a special aura to the atmosphere. Rangoli was also made by the children were not only colours but flowers were also used.
The program commenced with the ceremony of lightening the lamp by the guests of honour, Smt Deepa and Col. R.K.Mehrotra and Shri V K.GoyalThe cultural program was filled with beautiful presentations. The children presented a dance- drama ‘Suraj ki Lali Chiayi Jumna Kae Tat Per Aaj with joy. A pleasant performance on ‘Holi khalat sang Kanai’ by the little dancers of the 5 to 7 age group was applauded by all’ among others. A dance performance on a traditional folk song ‘Mat Maro Shyam Pichakaree’ depicting the life of Krishna at Vrindavan was given by a young group of “Rangshala”The main attraction of the event was a Garba and a dance performance which included children with special needs, deaf and normal children together. The program stunned everyone with the performances by the artists of Rang Shala. The event was celebrated with great joy. These children come from rural backgrounds.
The guests of honour Col. R.K.Mehrotra appreciated the enthusiasm of all the child artists and expressed that the efforts of the movement for preserving and serving the culture are commendable. Mrs. Kiran Goyal, the Chief promoter of Nanhi Dunya, while expressing her gratitude to all, said we are celebrating 75 years of commitment and joy dedicated to social service, to commemorate this we are celebrating the “Rainbow platinum jubilee. “With the best wishes and cooperation of countless people, we are moving forward. Letters of blessings, appreciation, and support have poured in from messages from the Honourable Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu. Honorable Shri. Om Birla (Speaker Lok Sabha), Chief Ministers and governors of different states, and many organizations that are working in the field of child and women welfare.She gave her heartfelt thanks to all the distinguished guests, media, and co-workers. Volunteers & other dignitaries were present on the occasion.In the end, the program concluded with the guests playing Holi with natural colours and dancing on “Kajri” and folk songs.
