Rishikesh: 09.02.2022:- THDC India Limited (THDCIL) signed the Letter of Intent (LOI) of 10,000 MW in Rajasthan with an estimated investment of Rs 40,000 crores for establishment of Renewable Energy Parks/Projects of 10,000MW in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Rajasthan and Hon’ble Minister for Industry, Revenue and Energy, Govt. of Rajasthan. On behalf of THDCIL Sh. J. Behera, Director (Finance) signed the LOI and accepted by Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Rajasthan and Dr. Subodh Agarwal, CMD RRECL in Jaipur.
The land bank will be allocated by Govt. of Rajasthan through RRECL. The RE Parks will be implemented through SPV in the term of a JV company with RRECL in the ratio of 74:26.
With the above intent of investment in the energy sector by THDC India Limited, it is expected that around 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created during the peak time of construction which will boost the local economy. The Project shall be commissioned between 3rd and 5th year in a phased manner. These mega ventures by THDCIL and RRECL shall usher in the socio-economic development of the project areas and also bring in cheap solar electricity in the region. This shall also contribute towards RE capacity addition target of 500 GW by 2030 set out by Govt. of India at COP 26.
Sh. J. Behera, Director (Finance) expressed happiness and congratulated the officials from THDCIL and Govt. of Rajasthan for successfully completing the formalities regarding letter of intent (LOI). “It is the beginning of our mutual relationship with Govt. of Rajasthan as THDCIL is expanding its business operations in various parts of the country,” Sh. Behera added.
Sh. Rajeev Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited addressed the event though video conferencing. Sh. Vishnoi thanked the Department of Energy, Govt. of Rajasthan for their cooperation in expediting this investment proposal by THDCIL.
Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit. Being a major player in the renewable Energy Sector, THDCIL is also implementing 2000MW Ultra Mega Solar Parks in the State of Uttar Pradesh with UPNEDA.
