Dehradun: Kargil War Hero Group captain (retd) K Nachiketa rao become the face of Adventhrill’s Kargil vijay diwas mini marathon. While people were hesitant to leave their homes due to heavy rains, there were some people who were ready in their own unique way to pay a true tribute to the brave sons of Kargil. Today on 26th July, Adventhrill paid tribute to the brave heroes of Kargil by organizing a marathon on Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The most important thing is that Kargil war Hero Group Captain (Retd) Nachiketa Rao (Air Force Medal) himself was the chief guest of this marathon who came to Dehradun with his father from Hyderabad to grace the occasion, Chief guest Nachiketa sir’s father started the race by flagging off and the enthusiasm of the runners was worth seeing even in the midst of heavy rain.
Professional cyclist and mountaineer Vijay Pratap Singh, founder of Adventhrill, said that as you all know, we live in this society and Advent Thrill was started with the same objective that we can give some positive opportunities to the youth of the society. We keep organizing such events from time to time which come under our social responsibility. About two hundred participants registered in the marathon and all were presented with T-shirts, medals, refreshments, etc. from AdvenThrill.
The Marathon started at the Musée Art Café and ended at the Musée Art Café on Canal Road via the IT Park diversion.The chief guest Group Captain (Retd) Nachiketa Rao (Air Force Medal) honored the winners with trophies and medals.Chief Guest Group Captain Nachiketa Rao while addressing all the participants, shared his experience of Kargil war and guided the youth for duties towards the country.
The Marathon was conducted by Shri Naresh Singh Nayal, Coach of the Indian Blind Football Team. Vaibhav Uniyal, Arpan Singh Mayan, Hridayesh Shahi, Kaushal Pandey, Anmol Parashar, Shuben Shahi, Vedant Rastogi, Siddhant, Gambhir Singh Chauhan, Anil Mohan, Ashmit Rawat, Yash, Mayank, Avi etc. played an important role in making the marathon a success.
Runners from the age of six to sixty years participated in the marathon. Deepak Yadav in Under-18, Akash in 18-40 category, Manjit Rawat in 40-50 category, Shri Vinod Saklani ji in 50 and 6-year-old Amyra Singh got first position in women’s category.
