SPECS, Dehradun has been recognised as SPACE TUTOR by ISRO

Dehradun: In a major achievement, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has given recognition to Society of Pollution and Environmental Conservation Scientists (SPECS) as a SpaceTutor.  With this SPECS has now been authorized to publicize space science and conduct sensitization programmes linked to it in Uttarakhand and surrounding states.

SPECS  secretary Dr Brijmohan Sharma disclosed that the SPECS, Dehradun has been recognised as SPACE TUTOR by ISRO, which is said was a big achievement for SPECS  and asserted that this will lead to awareness in the society towards space science in a big way.

He said better sensitisation programmes linked to space science can be organised in schools, colleges and other institutions.  

Dr Sharma also disclosed that in coming days SPECS in association with Smart Circuits Innovation as technology partner will also be holding various programmes in nearby states on satellite technology, rocket technology and space exhibition amongst others. 

The Memorandum of Understanding between ISRO and SPECS was signed in Bangalore on August 5 under which the former assigned SPECS as its Space tutor.

Member Space Commission and former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation Padam Shri Aluru Seelin Kiran Kumar   and  Sudhir Kumar member Capacity building programme ISRO were witness to the signing of the MoU. 

Smart Circuits Innovation’s founder Sachin Sharma and Saurabh Kaushal Associate Fellow Royal Commonwealth Society London have expressed happiness towards SPECS being authorised as SPACE TUTOR……..ENDS.
