Dehradun: As the festive season of Diwali brings joy and prosperity to all, Yi Dehradun under its Masoom vertical celebrated Diwali with children of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Baalika Chatravaas, Prem Nagar, Dehradun. Members of the chapter along with their families gathered to bring the sparkle of joy to more than 100 inmates. Whole chattravas was decorated by the members and children with diyas, flowers and colours. A carnival along with fun activities like rangoli & painting competition were also organised for the children. Children actively participated in all the activities. Sweet smiles on children’s faces fulfilled the objective of the initiative.
Sweatshirts, essential items including ration, goodies and sweets were provided to the Chatravaas. On the occasion an awareness session was also conducted against child sexual abuse with the help of Childline (Child Helpline) on safe and unsafe touch.
Mr Harshit Gupta, Chair Yi Dehradun, congratulated the Yi Dehradun members and the Masoom vertical of the chapter for taking up this unique initiative of Diwali celebration and said ‘’I am hopeful that Yi shall continue to do the good work and keep reaching out to more children’’
Mr Ankit Lamba, Chair, Masoom Vertical – Yi Dehradun interacted with the children and motivated them to work hard towards achieving their dreams. He also thanked all the members for their time and efforts they had invested to make this initiative a successful one.
The celebration was attended by over 40 Yi members along with their families.
