Waste Warriors society started initiative to convert tetra pack waste into useful items

 Dehradun: 8 Jan 2022: Waste Warriors society working in Dehradun on solid waste management is now working to convert tetra pack waste into useful items.  About 350 tonnes of solid waste is generated in Dehradun every day, out of which 80 tonnes is such waste which can be recycled every day. Great  Work is being done by the organization regarding this dry waste and tetra pack in Dehradun. SWACHHTA KENDRA (Material Recovery Center) has also been set up by the organization in Harrawala, Ward 97, in which a large amount of dry waste is being further segregated and handed over by the active people every day. 

The waste of tetra packs cartoon like juice, milk, lassi, chach etc. is collected by the safai sathi and sent by the organization to make the board and use the same board as table, chair, cupboard, pen stand,  box etc.In Gandhi Park, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun Zoo, Directorate of Urban Development and many schools have also been provided furniture by the organization.  The organization has only one objective behind doing all these work that Dehradun should be made Waste free and all the dry waste or recycled waste should be collected separately and converted into useful things which will generate employment as well as reduce waste problem.
  Ankita Chamola of the Waste Warriors society said that in the last one year, about 26 tonnes of Tetra Pack waste has been collected by the organization from Dehradun & nearby cities/Uttarakhand in collaboration with Tetra Pack India Private Limited, which has been sent forward to be converted into the boards.
