Dehradun. 03 rd June 2023. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences organized a One Day Continuing Medical Education (C.M.E.) Program on the topic, ‘Challenges in Viral Markers & Diagnosis’.. More than 150 subject experts participated in this District level CME Program on Viral Markers. Clinical Symptoms, Investigations, Management and related challenges in context of Hepatitis B, C and HIV were highlighted. All the experts stressed on the fact that appropriate viral marker tests can aid in timely diagnosis and management of HIV and Hepatitis cases.
The CME Program was begun at the auditorium of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital by the Chief Guest, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. R.K. Verma & Guest of Honour, Chief Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Prerak Mittal, Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr Ajay Pandita and Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Gaurav Raturi jointly by lamp lighting. The Main Speaker of the CME Program, Senior Microbiologist, Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, Dr. Bansidhar Tarai, explained in detail the Diagnostic strategies on HIV.
He explained about the present modalities and modern/upcoming modalities in a comparative manner. He told that apart from the traditional testing methods for HIV diagnosis, there are some other diagnostic tests like Viral Load, P-24 antigen testing in which HIV positivity can be detected easily and at the earliest. Dr. (Prof). Dimple Raina, Central Lab Director, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, in her address, explained the diagnostic modalities for Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C in detail. She explained about the National Control Programme for Hepatitis and about the diagnostic guidelines mentioned in the programme.
During the C.M.E. Program, a Panel Discussion was also conducted. In this Panel Discussion, senior faculty members of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. Amit Verma, Dr. Amit Soni, Dr. Bansi Dhar Tarai, Dr. Sulekha Nautiyal and Dr. Dimple Raina participated. In the Panel Discussion, the panelists explained in detail about the tests and treatment of Hepatitis and HIV. All these experts answered the queries of the participants and enriched their knowledge. The stage anchoring for event was done by Dr. Kxitiza Pandey. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by , HOD, Department of Microbiology, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and SGRRIM&HS, Dr. (Prof). Sulekha Nautiyal. Significant roles were also played by Dr. Iva Chandola, Dr. Reshmi Roy, Dr. Himanshu Narula, Dr. Ranjana Rohilla, Dr Shiwang Patwal and Dr. Saumya Srivastava in making the CME Program a grand success. The C.M.E. Program was approved by Uttarakhand Medical Council (U.K.M.C.).
