Tula’s International and Oberai School moved ahead in football tournament

Dehradun, May 7: Oberai School of Integrated Studies, Dehradun and Tula’s International School, Dehradun began their campaigns on a victorious note in the first round of the Boy’s U-16 and U-14 Football events, respectively, at the Sports For All Championship Uttarakhand 2022, held at the Pavilion Ground here on Saturday.

Sahajveer was the star performer from Oberai School of Integrated Studies, as his 3 splendid goals helped his team beat the boys from GRD World School 8-0 in the Under-16 category. Meanwhile from Tula’s International School, Dehradun, it was Yug Patel, with his sensational 4 goals, who helped the team beat the U-14 boys of The Doon Global School 7-0. Among the female football players, the girls of Him Jyoti School beat Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy 7-0 in the Under-16 category, with captain Riya Rawat leading the campaign for Him Jyoti by scoring 2 goals.

Sports For All Championship Uttarakhand’s Football Event kicked off at the Pavilion Ground on Saturday and is expected to carry on till the end of the Championship, on the 15th on May. Elsewhere, at The Tonsbridge School’s Skating rink, youngster Yug Manglik of DAV Centenary Public School, Haridwar stole the show by bagging two gold medals in the Under-9 Quads Skating event by clocking 34.31 secs in the 200m event and 2:15.00 mins in the 800m event.

In the Under-9 Quads 200m skating race, Manglik’s school mate Abeer Agarwal bagged the silver medal by clocking 39.25 secs and Sun Valley School, Dehradun’s Adhvik Solanki settled for the bronze medal with a timing of 39.75 secs. Youngster Naivedya Negi of St.Patrick’s Academy secured the second place in the Under-9 800m Quads skating event by clocking 2:38.00 mins.The Sports For All Championship Uttarakhand will witness 3 more sports added to its schedule on Sunday. Archery, Fencing and Boxing will be carried out at the Social Baluni Public School.
