Dehradun: Tula’s Institute hosted a talk session with the renowned social activist and the founder of Beach Warriors and Roti Ghar, Dr Chinu Kwatra, within the college premises today.
The program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by all the present dignitaries, including Dr Chinu Kwatra, Chairman Tula’s Group Sunil Kumar Jain, Vice President Tula’s Group Raunak Jain, Vice President Technology Dr. Raghav Garg, Director Tula’s Institute Dr. Sandeep Vijay, Dean Dr. Nishant Saxena, Dr. Ranit Kishore, among others.
Addressing the audience, Chinu commenced with his session and said, “The biggest source of motivation is the sadness within yourself. I’ve had my fair share of ups and down in my life. I used to belong to an affluent family till 2006 when my family encountered huge financial losses. It became difficult for my brother and me to complete our schooling. But my mother, who has been the biggest source of inspiration and motivation for all of us, took a step forward, started a Dhaba, and helped us finish our schooling. I used to help my mother in her venture by delivering food and washing utensils after school.”
Sharing further, Chinu said, “After several off jobs, I was able to pursue my graduation. After I graduated, my girlfriend’s family at that time told me to do MBA to marry her. I worked really hard, completed a double MBA in 2014, and was preparing to marry my girlfriend, but unfortunately, she died in an accident. I was shattered by her death and went into depression. I tried to commit suicide but was unsuccessful and shared the same with my mother. She simply told me to follow my childhood dream and that’s how I started with my NGO Khushiyaan Foundation. Since then, I’ve been managing several NGOs and trying my best to help society at large.”
Concluding his session, Chinu said, “From 2014 till today, people have appreciated my work and made me a hero but all I’ve been trying to do is to just be a good human. So the most important thing in life is not to run after money but to become a good human!”
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Tula’s Institute Sunil Kumar Jain said, “It is a moment of pride for the entire Tula’s family to host such a dynamic personality like Dr Chinu Kwatra. Today he shared his valuable inputs and lessons with the students of Tula’s, and we are forever grateful to him!”
At present, Chinu is running three significant projects, viz., Beach Warrior, MARD, and Roti Ghar. Collectively, these projects have made an impact on the lives of over 1100 underprivileged children and women by providing healthy meals to the kids and distributing eco-friendly sanitary pads and menstrual cups to girls & women.
The talk concluded with a question-answer session wherein Chinu addressed the queries of the students present. Several hundreds of students of Tula’s Institute and Tula’s International School attended the talk show.
