2nd January 2022, Dehradun: The 2-day-long VMSB Uttarakhand Technical University Intercollegiate Athletic Tournament was held at Tula’s Institute today.
The tournament began with the welcoming of the Chief Guest Registrar Uttarakhand Technical University R. P. Gupta by the Chairman Tula’s Group Sunil Kumar Jain.
The opening ceremony started with the display of the college’s grit and discipline via March Past, in which students from all the engineering branches took part along with the students of NCC and NSS. This was followed by an oath ceremony where the athletes took an oath pledging to put their best foot forward and to not resort to unfair means and try their best to be true to the spirit of honesty and sportsmanship. The sports meet was declared open after the unfurling of the flag.
The meet started with 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 800mts, 1600mts racing heat events for girls and boys. A series of individual events, including high jump, long jump, javelin throw, discus throw, was also held during the occasion.
The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the Chief Guest presented the students with awards. The overall winning trophy was presented to Tula’s Institute, while the runners-up award was presented to COER, Roorkee.
