Theatrical adaptations of Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’s stories leave audience spellbound

 Exceptional theatrical adaptations based on five captivating stories by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ mesmerized the audience at Shankarvarnam Auditorium, Premnagar on last tuesday.

Organized by Himalaya Virasat Nyas, the adaptations showcased the renowned stories of Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, including ‘Myar Nantin’, ‘Vaaris’, ‘Program Cancel’, ‘Kaise Sambandh’, and ‘Sampatti’. Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is an Indian Politician and renowned Author. He has authored more than 100 books in Hindi, some of which have been translated to English as well as other Indian languages.

Under the guidance of prestigious institutions such as the Himalayiya University’s School of Acting and Performing Arts, Bharatendu Natya Academy, Madhya Pradesh School of Drama, National School of Drama (TIE Wing), Shri Ram Center in Delhi, and Rangmanch Academy in Mandi, these performances brought the narratives to life on stage.

Collaborating with Sanskar Bharati, K.S.M. Film Productions, and Pancham Ved, the program celebrated the richness of Indian culture and storytelling through theatre.

MLA & State Head of Sanskar Bharti, Savita Kapoor, congratulated and felicitated the artists and directors of the various plays presented during the occasion. Furthermore, the owner of Shankarvarnam Auditorium, Manvi Nautiyal, announced that the state’s theatre artists could utilize the auditorium free of cost.

The auditorium was inaugurated by popular actor Kunal Shamshere Malla, who also delivered a talk on ‘professionalism in theatre’ during the event.

Anurag Verma, a professor at Himalayiya University, expressed his belief that such initiatives should be included in the curriculum of various schools and colleges in the state. He emphasized that this would help students enhance their creative sides and become better citizens.

The program was moderated by District General Secretary Nishant Panwar and was chaired by dr Ajay Verma. The event coordinator on the occasion was Varun Dhoundiyal.

Also present on the occasion were Raman Kumar, Rajeev Ranjan Jha, Mukesh Jha, Shamshere Singh, Somita Kundu, Martina, Raveena, and Ritika.
