The Doon School Lifts D.M.  Swing Memorial Hockey Trophy

Mussoorie: April,28:-The grand finale of  D.M. Swing Memorial Inter School Hockey Tournament was played between Oak Grove School and The Doon School, Dehradun at Oak Grove School ground today. The final match was inaugurated jointly by Brother Ramesh
Amalnathan, Principal St. George College, Mussoorie and Naresh Kumar, Principal, Oak Grove School, Jharipani. The Doon School team lifted the trophy by winning against Oak Grove School by 2-1. From The Doon school both the goals were hit by Raghu Raj SinghSodhi. From Oak Grove School Mausam Raj hit one goal. The trophy of the Best player of the tournament was awarded to Harsh Agarwal and the trophy of the best goal keeper was given to Yashveer Teotia of The Doon School.

Most Promising Player of the tournament was Swarit Kumar of Oak Grove School. The Chief Guest of the occasion Brother Ramesh Amalnathan and Naresh Kumar gave the most prestigious trophy to the winning team. Brother Ramesh Amalnathan appreciated the efforts of the school in organizing such a nice Hockey tournament. Naresh Kumar said that the children still have passion for hockey as in the past. Naresh Kumar further added that the main aim of organizing the tournament was to promote hockey and to provide a platform to the players and he also congratulated all the members of winner team.

The National level Railway Referees of the tournament were Vijay Kishore, Gaurav Bhardwaj, Rajneesh Pandey, Vivek Dhar and O.P Kumar. Out of them Gaurav Bhardwaj has been International Hockey players from Northern Railway. The match was witnessed by
Savita Kumari, Kusum Kamboj, Head Mistress, Oak Grove senior Girls’ School , R.K Nagpal ,Incharge ,Head Master, Oak Grove Boys’ School, Vinay Kumar, Head Master, Oak Grove Junior School, Vipul Rawat, Anupam Singh, Atul Kumar Saxena, Dharya Nagpal ,S.K Raza, R.N Yadav, Archana Shankar ,Shadab Alam ,Abhishek Rawat, Priyanka Ranjan, Pramod Kumar ,G.D Raturi and other faculty members of the school.
