The Asian School and Corvuss American Academy, declared joint winners

Dehradun: The 10th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament commenced on 27 April. A total of 12 schools participated in this 4 day event played in the league cum knockout format.In the first semifinal, Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai, defeated The Maan School, Delhi, by 10 points. In the 2nd semifinal, The Asian School defeated The Doon School by 11 points. Mandeep Singh and Vinod Negi, both International Volleyball players, were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively, for the Closing Ceremony.

The final match which was to be played on 30 April was cancelled due to heavy rainfall. The Asian School and Corvuss American Academy, Mumbai, were declared joint winners. Prabhat Mishra from Corvuss American Academy was declared the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament, and Aditya from The Asian School was declared the ‘Most Promising Player’. The Chief Guest congratulated the winners and the participants.

The prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were the Director, Asian School, Gaganjyot Singh Juneja, Head, Senior School, Mukesh Nangia, and Headmistress Prachi Mehrotra.  Coaches from participating schools, the officiating referees, staff and students of The Asian School, too, were present on the occasion. The event came to a close with the vote of thanks proposed by Tanisha Aggarwal (Sports Captain, The Asian School).
