Dehradun- 08 April 2023- As part of sports and other related activities, a team of UJVN Limited personnel successfully tracked and climbed the Kedarkantha peak located in district Uttarkashi. Congratulating the team Managing Director of the UJVNL Mr. Sandeep Singhal said that the state of Uttarakhand has a distinct identity in the field of tourism, sports and adventure activities and participation in these activities will help in strengthening and enhancing the physical and mental efficiency of nigam personnel.
Sandeep Singhal told that personnel of all age groups were included in the Kedarkantha climbing team and by successfully climbing Kedarkantha in the stipulated time will help in inspiring and motivating not only UJVNL’s but also the personnel of other departments. The hiking team consist of Vimal Dabral, G.B. Thapliyal, D.S.Negi, Lavish Saini, Sohanlal Sharma, Jaiveer Tadiyal, Prashant Bisht, Sushil Negi and Himanshu Tiwari scaled the peak. Informing about the campaign Vimal Dabral, Public Relations Officer of UJVNL, said that the members of the team under the banner of UJVN Limited reached Kedarkantha peak and hoisted the national flag tricolor on the top.
Vimal Dabral said that the Kedarkantha peak situated at an altitude of 12500 feet is one of the favorite destinations for adventure sports enthusiasts coming to Uttarakhand. The last 4 km climb after Kedarkantha Base Camp is thrilling as well as tough and challenging. This route is steep and completely covered with snow. This was the first such attempt by the nigam’s team which was successful. The objective of the team was to spread awareness among the personnel as well as the general public about the natural and tourist places of the state as well as to encourage them to participate in sports and adventure activities.
