Dehradun: GARDNER PREMIER LEAGUE commenced its innings on 25 th April, 2022 the Finals being played on 14 th May, 2022. Total number of teams participated in the Boy’s category were 16 boys while there were 9 Girls’ teams. There were 250 players took part in 90 hours of exciting cricket. This form of cricket has gained recognition over the years and lots of schools look forward to participating in this event year after year.

The excitement and the enthusiasm of each match can only be experienced by actually witnessing the game. The atmosphere is electric and enough to keep one glued to the edge of one’s seat right through to the end. The Girls Final Match commenced at 4:00 pm and was played between St. Thomas’ College and St. Jude’s School. St. Jude’s School won the toss and elected to bat. In the nail-biting match closely contested tough match, St. Jude’s School won the Gardner Inter-School Girls Indoor Cricket Tournament, 2022 by 4 runs.

In the Boys Finals which started at 5:30 pm was played between St. Jude’s School and Doon Public School, Bhaniyawala. Doon Public School, Bhaniyawala won the toss and elected to bowl. The boys kept the spectators enthralled and The winners of the Gardner Inter-School Boys Indoor Cricket Tournament, 2022 was St. Jude’s School who won by 29 runs. The Chief Guests on the occasion were Mr. G.I.G. Mann, Ex-MLA, Ex-Thomasian & Director Carman Residential & Day School, Dalanwala, Dehradun & Mrs. S. Mann, Principal, Carman Residential & Day School, Dalanwala, Dehradun. Mr. Mann in his address to the audience was enthralled with the performance of the students and encouraged the children to take part in more sporting activities. Distinguished Guests who graced the occasion amongst others were Mrs. V.R. Gardner, Principal, St. Jude’s School, Col A. K. Pundir, Principal, Constancia School, Mr. D.P.S Gupta, Principal, Guru Nanak Academy, Mr. D. D’Monte, Principal Sri Ram Centennial School, Mr. P.S. Kalra, Principal Greenwood Hills School and other honourable and distinguished guests. The tournament ended with a Vote of Thanks from the Principal and Convener Mr. R.V. Gardner, Ex-MLA
