Dehradun: 106th Annual Speech & Prize Day of St. Thomas’ College was organised on Saturday, 21 st May, 2022 at the Gardner Multipurpose Auditorium in the school campus. The Chief Guest for the occasion was V.R. Gardner, Principal of St. Jude’s School and the program commenced with the presentation of Prizes to the meritorious student for the year 2021-2022. Then began the entertainment program compered by the two College Captains, Andrew Howard and Shrddha Rana which commenced with a beautiful welcome dance choreographed by the dance teacher Shravani Pandey.
The Inter-House Solo Singing Competition was next where all four houses presented students withexceptional voices and were accompanied by background dancers which made the singing more enjoyable. The songs were taken from famous English Songs and the participants were from Degruyther House, Devyani Devli singing Senorita, from Fraser House, Anshika Chauhan singing Love Story, from Burn House, Aryan Singh singing Perfect and from Cole House, Shloka singing Unstoppable.
This was followed by a folk dance by the Junior School students and a fusion dance was next presented by the students of St. Jude’s School. The duet singing competition watch closely contested by all four houses and songs were taken from famous hindi films and the participants were Degruyther House, Sidhika Devli & Harshit Bahukhandi singing Pehla Nasha, Fraser House, Divya Bijlwan & Prarabdh Mamgain singing Tumse Milke Aisa Laga, Burn House, Shivani Kala & Samar Veer Singh singing Apke Aajane se and Cole House, Namya Bansal & Devansh Tomar singing Aaya Mausam Pyar Ka.
A special fusion dance was presented by the students of St. Jude’s School. The vibrant colourful and energetic program came to an end with the prize distribution by the chief guest and the winners of the Solo Singing competition was Aryan Singh of Burn House and runners-up was Anshika Chauhan Of Fraser House In the Duet caregory the winners were Sidhika Devli & Hardhit Bahukhandi of Degruyther House and the Runners-up were Shivani Kala & Samar Veer Singh of Burn House.The Chief Guest Mrs. Gardner praised the students for their wonderful singing and exceptional
performance. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal.
