Dehradun:St. Joseph’s Academy hosted its annual LKG Orientation programme on April 1st, 2023, welcoming seven new batches of Lower Kindergarten students into its fold. The Orientation programme, organised by the Junior school, is an annual tradition of extending a warm welcome to the new entrants of Lower Kindergarten and their parents. Through this programme, parents are acquainted and informed about the policies and services offered by the school and are given a first-hand view of the school’s history, faculty and facilities.
The programme was hosted by Avir, Ojaswi, Ivan, Aaira and Shaurya of class I. Lavanya and Yashashvin of Class I invoked God’s blessings by saying the prayer. There was a poignant prayer dance which was followed by the lighting of the lamp by Principal, Reverend Brother Jeyaseelan S., Vice Principal Rev. Brother Astinus Kujur, the respective coordinators and LKG class teachers.
The programme witnessed an array of various performances by participants of UKG, class I and class V.
Junior School Coordinator, Mrs. Vimi Sondhi, addressed the parents and said it was a proud moment for their wards. Kindergarten Coordinator, Mrs. S. Lepcha, introduced the LKG teachers on the stage.
Parents were also briefed by counsellor Mrs. Minni Sethi on how to engage with their children by ensuring their proper social, physical and mental well-being.
Rev. Bro Jeyaseelan S. congratulated the new students and their parents for becoming a part of the Josephite family. He said, children are like seeds and they all sprout and grow with a mix of love and challenges. He also spoke about the relevance of time and said that both parents and students must make the best use of it.
An audio-visual presentation on the new facilities available in the Junior school, like the library and the activity room, were also shown to the parents.
The programme concluded with the junior school choir singing the school song.–
