4th January 2023, Dehradun: SPIC MACAY organized a Sitar Workshop Demonstration by the talented Sitar Player Vishal Mishra at Maharshi Vidya Mandir today. He was accompanied by Shubhojit Bhattacharya on the tabla. The program was organized with the support of the SRF Foundation. Vishal’s workshop focused on spreading knowledge about Indian classical music and the role of the sitar in it. The workshop was witnessed and enjoyed by students and teachers. Vishal Mishra is currently working at Graphic Era University. He is the 7th generation musician from the Banaras music family.
His training started when he was born because everyone at his home had a musical background. He was trained under Ustad Shujaat Hussain Khan. He has been playing since 2000. Vishal Mishra has been performing extensively in India and Abroad for almost 20 years now.During the circuit, he also performed at the Laksh International School, Doon Convent, Gurukul International School, and SKM School.
