Spellbinding fusion: ‘Rama Chitra Katha’ enchants Doonites

: Sanskar Bharti and Dr Usha RK, in association with FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) and KSM Film Productions, organized ‘Rama Chitra Katha’ at the Olympus High Auditorium today. This unique exposition brought together the art forms of Dance and Pictorial Calligraphy to create an enchanting experience for the audience.

The special guests on the occasion were Finance Minister Uttarakhand Premchand Aggarwal, MLA & State Head of Sanskar Bharti Savita Kapoor, and Adhyaksh Bal Aayog Dr Geeta Khanna.

The program commenced with the grand inauguration of the Ramayana Pictorial Calligraphy & Interactive Session by renowned Calligraphy Artist, Parameshwar Raju. The audience full of students was captivated as they witnessed the intricacies of calligraphy come to life through the skilled hands of the artist. The interactive session allowed participants to engage with the artist and gain insights into the fascinating world of pictorial calligraphy, especially since calligraphy is primarily typographic and Shri Parameshwar Raju is the only artist who has created this new genre of pictorial calligraphy.

Following this, the stage was set for a spellbinding Rama Katha Dance Presentation by the acclaimed dancer, Sathyanarayana Raju. With graceful movements and expressive storytelling, Raju transported the audience into the mythical world of Lord Rama. The captivating characterisation of the main characters who were instrumental in bringing turn points in Ramas life left everyone in awe, showcasing the power of dance as a medium of artistic expression.

Dr Usha RK, Arts Consultant and Former Cultural Director, Embassy of India, Moscow, expressed her delight at the successful organization of the event, stating, “The fusion of dance and pictorial calligraphy in ‘Rama Chitra Katha’ has presented a unique artistic endeavor. It is a celebration of our rich cultural heritage and a testament to the creative talents involved. The art loving audiences of Dehradun are responding with such enthusiasm that I am now excited to bring many more unique concepts to this city.”

Anuradha Malla, Chairperson of FLO Uttarakhand, also shared her thoughts on the occasion, saying, “We are proud to be associated with programs that beautifully combine art forms to create a visual spectacle. FLO is committed to promoting art and culture, and this collaboration with Sanskar Bharti and Dr Usha RK has proven to be an extraordinary showcase of talent and creativity.”

The ‘Rama Chitra Katha’ event served as a platform for artists and art enthusiasts to come together and appreciate the beauty of dance and pictorial calligraphy. It marked a significant milestone in the cultural landscape of Dehradun, showcasing the city’s thriving arts community.
