Dehradun: ‘Whoever is wished to live by Almighty God, can’t be killed by anyone’. Doctors are called ‘The God of Earth’ not just for namesake. The doctors of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital have proved this by gifting a new life to a patient by removing a blade trapped in the food path of the patient. During the operation, the doctors successfully brought out the blade from the food path of the patient. The patient is healthy now after the operation. This information was given by Dr. Sharad Hernot of Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
The whole case is that a 26 years old man unknowingly took a razor blade along with food. The sharp blade then got trapped in
the food tract of the patient turning the situation life threatening. The patient was brought to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital for treatment. The doctors of ENT Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital diagnosed, after initial investigations, that the razor blade is trapped very close to the most significant vein near to the breathing tract. The doctors of ENT Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital
gifted a new life to the patient was removing the razor blade trapped in the food path of the patient. This complicated operation was conducted successfully by Assistant Professor & ENT Surgeon of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Sharad Hernot and ENT Deptt.’s Senior Resident Dr. Fatma Anjum in which the trapped razor blade was removed from patient’s food path via endoscopy procedure.
The patients and his parents have expressed deep gratitude towards the doctors and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and said that the doctors have proved to be the Gods of the Earth. After the operation, the patient has been given medicines and feed via the nasal path.
Dr. Sharad Hernot informed that when the patient was brought to Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital by his family, they told that he had taken a razor blade into his mouth in ignorance along with food. Patient’s father informed that in ignorance the patient took the razor blade into his mouth.
He said that he took the patient to several big hospitals of Uttarakhand but the patient’s problem could not be sorted out. After that, he took his son to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital for treatment. Here Assistant Professor Dr. Shard Hernot and Senior Resident Dr. Fatma Anjum conducted successful surgery by endoscopy and removed the razor blade. Dr. Sharad Hernot had detailed discussion with eth patient and his parents. He also did counseling of the patient to ensure that such mistakes do not happen in future. Significant roles were also played by ENT Surgeons Dr. Arvind Verama, dr. Tripti Mamgain & Dr. Mohita, Anesthetist Dr. Swati, Dr. Vishal, Staff Nurse Aradhana, etc. in making the operation a success.
