Dehradun: St. Joseph’s Academy had organized Bro. V. P. Bernard Inter-school Senior Girls Basketball Tournament from 21st to 24th August 2022 under the benign guidance of the Principal, Rev. Bro. Jeyaseelan and the Vice Principal, Rev. Bro. Astinus Kujur. After a tough competition from schools like – Woodstock, Wynberg Allen, APS – Birpur, Unison, and The Aryan school, the Josephites maintained a winning spirit right from the first match.
The Chief Guest for today’s final event was Mr. Vinod Vachani – senior basketball coach from Dehradun. Mr. Ajay Mark (retd.) Head of Department – Sports – Woodstock School, was also present for the match today. The final match of the tournament was played between SJA and APS – Clement Town in which SJA secured a phenomenal victory against APS by 52-27.
Ballavi Badoni was declared the highest scorer from SJA with 23 points and Trishti from APS – Clement Town, with 10 points. Ballavi Badoni of SJA and Twisha from APS – Clement Town were presented the trophies for being adjudged the most promising and the most valuable player respectively. The day full of excitement and enthusiasm ended with the Principal addressing the players.
