Dehradun, 28th January, 2023: 212 Upper Kindergarteners became the youngest graduates of St. Joseph’s Academy, making their parents and teachers proud, in a glittering ceremony to celebrate their official transition to first grade. The budding kindergarteners were dressed in seas of blue, looking elegant in their gold and emerald blue gowns and hats. The chief guest for the occasion was DIG Law and Order /GRP Uttarakhand, Ms. P. Renuka Devi. Principal Rev. Bro. Jeyaseelan S., Vice Principal Rev. Bro. Astinus and all the
coordinators were present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a prayer dance by students of class V. Junior School Coordinator Mrs. Vimi Sondhi cordially welcomed the parents and introduced the Head Boy Eklavya Bhatia and Head Girl Anika Kathait to host the ceremony. The parents of all the six sections of UKG sat proudly in the auditorium and witnessed their children being bestowed the ceremonial degrees by DGP Ms. Devi, Bro. Jeyaseelan, Bro. Astinus and the respective coordinators.
Adding their charm of fun were the tiny tots of LKG who swayed to the beats of the Dura song and ‘I’m on my way’ while students of class 1 danced to their own version of the popular song, ‘ I see Love’. The U.K.G. Choir sang the’ Thank You Song’ to symbolize the beginning of a new chapter for the budding scholars. DIG Ms. Devi in her address to the gathering, congratulated the proud parents and the graduating students. She commended the budding scholars for their discipline in the ceremonial drill and wished them luck in their formative years. She also extolled the school and teachers for their dedication and responsibility in moulding the children and encouraged the parents to identify the talents of their children and nurture it.
Ma’am was presented a memento and a sash as a token of gratitude by Bro. Jeyaseelan. Bro. Jeyaseelan ,while congratulating the young graduates, said it was a proud moment for everyone. He thanked DIG Devi for gracing the ceremony and thanked the coordinators and teachers for their dedication and hard work. He also gave a special mention to the parents for always extending their support. Kindergarten Coordinator Mrs. S. Lepcha proposed the Vote of Thanks. The ceremony concluded with the Junior School Choir proudly singing the school song.
