SJA celebrated Independence day with full enthusiasm

Dehradun: India’s 76th Independence Day was celebrated in St.Joseph’s Academy on 15th August , 2022 with a lot of zeal and ardour. The Chief Guest for the day was Major General Sanjay Sharma, VSM (an alumnus of St. Joseph’s Academy) who was accompanied with his parents and wife.

After the flag hoisting, a mesmerising  dance was presented by senior school students which fueled patriotism in  one and all present. Vinimesh Bairagi and K Roli Mao delivered a motivational speech in Hindi and English ,respectively. A Hindi poem was recited by Swarnim Sethi which added to the spirit of the day. The school  choir left the audience spellbound with the rhythmic rendition of ‘Sing  a Song of Freedom’ and ‘Maa Tujhe Salam’. 

The Alumni Association had arranged for a felicitation programme to congratulate the ICSE and ISC students of the  2021-2022 batch who had scored more than 90%.The Chief Guest gave away the prizes and the certificates to all the top scorers and addressed the gathering, reminiscing his days in St. Joseph’s Academy as a student and encouraging the student body to be better citizens. The event concluded with the Principal, Rev. Bro.Jeyaseelan presenting a token of gratitude to the Chief Guest and addressing the Josephites.
