Dehradun: Managing Director of UJVNL Sandeep Singhal held an important meeting with the Chairman & Managing Director of BHEL Nalin Singhal in order to expedite the Renovation, Modernization and Upgradation (RMU) works of Chilla power house of UJVNL.
MD UJVNL Sandeep Singhal told that the machines of Chilla powerhouse have completed their useful life and their capacity of generating power has began to decline. Therefore in order to enhance the capacity of the machines and to maintain the generation it became necessary to carry out the RMU works. Sandeep Singhal told that after the RMU works the installed capacity of the Chilla powerhouse will enhance from 144 megawatt to 156 megawatt and the annual generation will increase by 250 million units. Hon’ble President of India during her recent journey of Uttarakhand has also laid the foundation stone of the RMU works said Singhal.
Sandeep Singhal told that there have been difficulty in obtaining spare parts and other components of machines and in other supplies in recent times due to CORONA, Russia Ukraine war etc. which was causing delay in the general project activities as well as in RMU works. Detailed discussion was held on various technical aspects along with the plan to mitigate these issues during the meeting. It was agreed that the RMU works of machine number one will be started as soon as possible so that the works can be completed on time. BHEL assured that it will give a work schedule within a week and will try it’s level best to complete the RMU of machine number one upto June, 2024. Present in the meeting were Director- Power BHEL Upender Singh Matharu, Executive Director UJVNL Pankaj Kulshrestha alongwith other other officers.
