Dehradun. The preparations of Shri Jhande Ji Fair have begun with unmatched enthusiasm. On Monday, special prayers and ‘ardas’ were offered of Shri Jhande Ji at Shri Darbar Sahib. A team of devotees under the mentorship of Sajjadanashin of Shri Darbar Sahib Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj left for Arayeyanwala, Haryana where Shri Jhande Ji was erected with utmost enthusiasm and fervour. On Monday, at 9 a.m. in the morning, a one-hundred member delegation left for Arrayanwala, Haryana. The delegation reached Arayeyanwala at 12 noon. The old Jhande ji was brought down with religious fervour. The Jhande ji was made to bath with milk, curd, ‘ghee’, butter, ‘Gangajal’ and ‘panchgavyon’. Amidst the presence of thousands of devotees, the 60 fts. high Jhande ji was erected. Till late in the evening, the ‘Sangats’ kept on raising prise slogans of Shri Guru Ram Ram Rai Ji Maharaj. Prasad and langar was distributed among the ‘Sangat’ devotees. Before this, as per the tradition, the priest of Shri Darbar Sahib had left for Bara Gaon, Haryana on 12th March 2022 along with the ‘hukmnama’ of Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj. After this only, the ‘Sangat’ on foot starts walking towards Dehradun. On 15 th March 2022, the ‘Sangat’ devotees on foot will be welcomed at Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Sahaspur. On 16 th March 2022, the ‘Sangat’ devotees on foot (paidal sangat) will enter Dehradun.
The management of Shri Darbar Sahib and Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee will be welcoming the ‘Sangat’ on foot very warmly at Kanwali village. On the evening of 16 th March 2022, the ‘Sangat’ on foot will be arriving at Shri Darbar Sahib. The ‘Sangat’ on foot will be welcomed by the management of Shri Darbar Sahib under the mentorship of Sajjadanashin Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj and will seek his divine blessings. Just like every year, the ‘Sangats’ will be entering Shri Darbar Sahib via Darshani Gate. Manager of Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee, K.C. Juyal informed that the preparations of Shri Jhande Ji fair are at its peak. From 15 th March 2022, the process of arrival of ‘Sangat’ devotees from India and abroad will gain momentum. On 19 th March 2022, ‘Sangat’ devotees will carry the new Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole) on their shoulders from Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Bombay Bagh and bring it to Shri Darbar Sahib passing through Bhandari Bagh, then to Matawala Bagh, then Saharanpur Chowk finally bringing it at Shri Darbar Sahib. On 21 st March 2022, the ‘Sangat’ devotees from the east will be given a farewell as per the tradition of Shri Darbar Sahib. On Tuesday, 22 nd March 2022, Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole) will be raised marking the beginning of Shri Jhande Ji Mela.
