Dehradun: The Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra, Dehradun a non-governmental organization, known for its work on human development and environment is conducting a ‘Teachers’ Capacity Building Training Program’ for teachers of the schools being run by RLEK in the hills of Uttarakhand. The program is being held from 20th to 22nd April and aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of
teachers to address the challenges faced by the education system. It also aimed at energizing and refreshing the teachers working in the hard terrains of the hills.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Peter Tower the Chief Guest who encouraged the audience on involving on social activities which were relevant to our society, his wise words enlightened the audience and advised them to actively engage in the training program that helps to enhance their skills. The Guest of Honors who joined the inaugural ceremony to grace the occasion wereMrs. Nalini Peter and Dr. Asha Rawal, both engraved the same words that after parents the second and most important person in a human being’s life is a teacher. The chairperson of the Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra, Mrs. Pratima Menon, delivered the welcome address and spoke about the need for capacity building of teachers to ensure quality education for all. She highlighted the role of the organization in promoting and protecting the rights of marginalized communities, including their right to education.
The three-day training program includes the inauguration and welcome of guests and participants followed by an ice-breaking session, a talk on educational psychology and stress management, handling gender stereotyping, common mistakes in teaching English, innovations in teaching- learning process, fundamental rights and duties, basic rules of various sports, the role of humor and appreciation in the class, sensitivity and child rights. Apart from this group activities and their presentation will be conducted which would help the teachers more on application. A wide variety of recreational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, music and dance will be held each day which will enable the teachers to refresh and recharge themselves.
