Proper use of helmet and seat belt to reduce the road traffic accidents: Dr Sanjay

On occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Indian Orthopaedic Association Bone & Joint Week, Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine & Maternity Centre and SHEWA Society organize a public awareness lecture on Road Safety in Jakhan, Rajpur Road, Dehradun on 7 August 2022. Director of the Centre Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay greeted the guest, students and the other people and introduced the guest to the audience and thanked to the guest and the students for participating in the program. Dr. Sanjay informed that he started Road Safety Campaign more than 20 years back in 2001.

Since then he has organize more than 200 free awareness lectures which has been recognized by India and International Book of Records and Government of Uttarakhand.  India and International Book of Records holder, Orthopaedic and Spine surgeon Dr. Gaurav Sanjay spread the awareness by audio visual presentation. Dr. Gaurav showed the risk of using mobile while driving and importance of use of helmet and seat belt to reduce the road traffic accidents. In case of accidents how to stop the bleeding and rescue the patients from the site of accident.

Transport Minister Shri Chandan Ramdas was chief guest who address the audience through audio-visual medium. Minister showed the concern of increasing number of Road Traffic Accidents in Uttarakhand. He assured that government will take the initiative to reduce the Road Traffic Accidents. Government has identify the black spots and working on it to reduce them. Guest of honor S.P. Traffic Akshay Konde IPS informed about the various reasons of road traffic accidents in Dehradun. He appealed to the students to cooperate with the traffic police and to stop whenever they were asked by the traffic police. It is uncivilized and shameful. If you do not stop whenever you are asked.

He suggested to the audience to inform the police through the traffic app about the traffic violators if any.  Padma Shri Kalyan Singh Rawat guest of honor of the program said it is the common observation to see the any one on the roads particularly on the night. They block the roads and increases the chances of accidents. The other guest Poet Shri Jasveer Singh Haldhar who is a poet recited the patriotic poem to infuse the national pride in the minds of guest and audience. Dr. Hemanshu Kochhar of Max Hospital showed the method of splint is in case of accidents.  Director of SOS center Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay distributed the Indian Flag to the guest and students to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
