Dehradun. On Wednesday, an awareness program was organized at Shri Guru Ram Rai University over the theme ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement. Prime Minister of India Narender Modi has appealed the people to participate enthusiastically in the ‘ Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement and make it a grand success nationwide. This year, when we are celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the students, faculty and staff of SGRR University were appealed and motivated to participate in this national festival.
On Wednesday, the programme was initiated jointly by University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Uday Singh Rawat and Registrar Dr. Deepak Sahni by lamp lightening. Speaking over the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Uday Singh Rawat urged all to remember and pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives while fighting for country’s independence. He said all the students, faculties and staff members must ensure their active roles in making this great movement of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and make this patriotic initiative by the country’s prime minister a big success.
Students, both boys and girls, of Deptt. of Music of School of Humanities and Social Sciences, SGRR University, gave heart touching presentations on various patriotic songs and riggered patriotic feelings in all the audiences. Students, both boys and girls, of the N.S.S. wing of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, by role playing, paid homage and emphasized the greatness of martyrs of the Indian Army who laid down their lives protecting the country. A message of respect towards the National Flag ‘Tricolor’ was also conveyed by means of role playing. Registrar of SGRR University, Dr. Deepak Sahni shared legal information about the laws to be abided by while unfurling the National Flag ‘Tricolor’ over homes and other buildings. N.S.S. Co-ordinator of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. Deepak Som in his address said that National Flag ‘Tricolor’ is of prime importance in patriotism and national unity. He said that all over in India, the 75 th Anniversary of Independence is being celebrated with utmost enthusiasm as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Pretti Tiwari explained in detail about the golden history of evolution of India’s National Flag and it’s coming into the present structure and design. Stage Anchoring was done by students Swarnim and Deepika. A Vote of Thanks was given by N.S.S. Co-ordinator Dr. geeta Rawat. Significant roles were played by SGRR University’s Assistant Professor & HOD, Deptt. of Music, Dr. Priya Pandey, N.C.C. Officer Lt. Anushka Kala and Ganesh Dabral. The occasion was also marked by the auspicious presence of Dr. Manoj Gahlot, Dr. Kumud Saklani, Dr. Parul Goyal and Deans, HODs, faculty members of all the departments, staff members and students of Shri Guru Ram Rai University.
