NKB, Jamdagni Public School through to the Kabaddi final at SFA Uttarakhand

Dehradun, May 13: NKB Public High School and Jamdagni Public School made their way into the final of the boys’ under-17 Kabaddi event at Sports For All Championship, Uttarakhand 2022, held at the Parade Ground Multipurpose Hall here on Friday.

In the first semi-final held on Friday morning, the power-packed team of NKB Public High School routed Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School (Bhaniyawala) 82-36 while in the second semi-final match, Jamdagni Public School (A) defeated Jamdagni Public School (B) 17-5. NKB Public High School and Jamdagni Public School will play for the title clash  on Saturday at the Parade Ground Multipurpose Hall.

Meanwhile, in the first semi-final match of the girls’ under-17 Kabaddi event, Satyeshwari Devi Memorial Public School got the better of The Sapience School (Vikas Nagar) 42-33, with Satyeshwari Devi’s Surbhi carrying out most raids in the game.

Right outside the Kabaddi Arena, at Parade Ground’s Basketball Court, Shigally Hill International Academy (Dehradun) put up a splendid performance in the girls’ under-14 category by recording a 9-0 win over Social Baluni Public School (A) and 9-2 win over DPSG Dehradun 6-2 respectively in their league stage matches. 

Later, in the basketball Group A league matches of the girls’ under-16 category  Shri Ram Centennial walloped Birla Open Minds School 12-0 and DPSG Dehradun 26-8, respectively. Similarly, in Group B, Shigally Hill International Academy whipped past Subhash Chandra Bose Academy 19-0.

As the Sports For All Championship, Uttarakhand advanced to its final stage, Patanjali Gurukulam, Haridwar are at the top of school leaderboard followed closely by Maharana Pratap Sports College and The Social Baluni Public School. 

 In the girls’ under-15 Kata category of SFA’s Karate event, Agrima Negi of Doon Public School took home the gold medal in her match against Raina Prajapati of Nirmal Ashram Deepmala Pagarani Public School. Similarly in the boys’ under-11 Kata category, Agrima’s brother Agrim Negi of Doon Public School won the gold medal by defeating Karmanveer Singh of K. V. Upper Camp, Dehradun.

 Elsewhere, at the Pavilion Ground, in the boys’ under-16 category of the Football Event,  Ayush notched up a hat-trick in Green Lawn Academy’s 3-0 victory over The Oberoi School of Integrated Studies 3-0. In the boys’ under-18 Round 2 match between Saigrace Academy International and DSB International Public School, DSB blanked Saigrace 9-0.
