Dehradun: 14th June, 2023: IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand celebrated “World Blood Donor Day” on 14th June, 2023 on the theme
“Give Blood, Give Plasma, Share Life, Share Often” to honor and to thank blood donors who save lives every day through their blood donations and strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood voluntarily and regularly. A felicitation ceremony was held at IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand to thank and honor the blood donors, and acknowledge their contribution for responding towards the increase in demand for blood and its components.
The program began with the welcome address by the President, IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand, Dr. Ajay Khanna and which was followed by lightning of lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Sushant Patnayak (IFS), Member Secretary, Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board. In his speech he encouraged all the voluntary blood donors for their selfless service towards the society and appreciated the work of IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand. The Blood Bank honored all the donors who donated 40 or more donations. Mr. Narendra Pratap Singh (66 donations) highest, Mr. Abhishek Khali (57 donations) second highest and Mr. Mayank Rawat (56 donations) third highest were felicitated for the first, second and third highest voluntary blood donation.
On this occasion Mr. Mohit Sethi & Mr. Aniket Bhartari were also felicitated for their selfless contribution in the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement through their NGOs “Rakt Mitra Uttarakhand Parivar” & “Life Saver Blood Group” respectively. The IMA Blood Bank also honored staff of Blood Bank for the first, second and third highest voluntary blood donations. Mr. Kamal Sahu, Manager, Social Marketing (32 donations) highest, Mr. Jyoti Chhetri, Manager II, ADMIN / HR (30 donations) second highest and Dr. Sanjay Upreti, Managing Director (25 donations) third highest were felicitated.
Further, the Chief Guest, Shri Sushant Patnayak (IFS), Member Secretary, Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board was felicitated with the presentation of mementoes & shawl. The Vote of thanks was given by Dr. D. D. Choudhury, Hony. Secretary, IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand. On this occasion Dr. B. S. Judge, Hony. Treasurer , Dr. R. N. Singh, Patron, Dr. S. G. Sethi, Dr. V. P. Chopra, Dr. S. S. Aswal, Governing body members and Dr. Sanjay Upreti, Managing Director, IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand and other distinguished doctors were also present.
