Dehradun: IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand celebrated World Blood Donor Day on 14th June 2022 on the theme “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives” to honor and to thank blood donors who save lives every day through their blood donations and strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood voluntarily and regularly. A felicitation ceremony was held at IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand to thank and honor the blood donors and acknowledge their contribution for responding towards the increase in demand for blood and its components.
The program began with the welcome address by president IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand. Dr Ajay Khanna. The Blood Bank honored all donors who donated 45 or more donations Narendra Pratap Singh (62 donations) first highest, Rajkumar Naswa (55 donations) second highest and Abhishek Khali (54 donations) was felicitated for the first, second and third highest voluntary blood donations.
On this occasion Dolphin Institute was also felicitated for organizing blood donations camps. Vote of thanks was given by Dr DD Chaudhary, Secretary IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand. In his speech he mentioned “it is heartening to see the continuous support which the IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand has received over the years by the donors. On this occasion Dr S Farooq, Dr Suresh Goyal, Vice President, SK Gupta Jt Secretary Dr RN Singh Patron Dr SG Sethi, Dr Harish Kohli, Dr SS Aswal, Governing body members and Dr Sanjay Upreti were also present.
