Dehradun: IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand has organized 13th Annual Conference “Rakt Pravah – 2022” at IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand, 47, Ballupur Road, Dehradun. The theme of the conference is “Current Trends in Blood Transfusion”. The academic session started with PG Paper Presentation in which students from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, Uttarakhand participated which was followed by the scientific session in which the
group of eminent speakers namely Dr. Gita Negi, Head, Department of Tranfusion Medicine, AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand told about the Blood Banking in COVID Era. Dr. Aparna Bhardwaj, Professor, Department of Pathology, SGRRIM&HS & SMIH, Patelnagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand discussed about Thalassemia Diagnosis & Management. Dr. Nitesh Gupta, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Transfusion Medicine, Government Doon Medical College, Dehradun talked about NAT Testing in Blood Donors. Dr. Daljit Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine, AIIMS Rishikesh, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand told about the Delayed Haemolytic Transfusion Reactions.
Dr. Vinay Kumar, Associate Consultant, Department of Transfusion Medicine, MAX Hospital, Mussoorie Diversion Road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand emphasized on Transfusion Support in Coagulation Disorders. Dr. Yashaswi Dhiman, Assistant Professor, Department of Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jollygrant, Dehradun, Uttarakhand told about the Buffey Coat Pooled Platelets and Dr. Vibha Sood, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, SGRRIM&HS & SMIH, Patelnagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand stressed upon RBC Transfusion in adolescent heavy menstrual bleeding.
In the evening, the program started with the lightning of lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, National President, IMA, New Delhi and Guests of Honor, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Hony. Joint Secretary, IMA, New Delhi & Shri Saurabh Bahuguna, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Uttarakhand at Hotel Madhuban, Rajpur Road, Dehradun and after that an E – souvenir was also released to memorialize the event which was followed by the welcome address by Dr. Ajay Khanna, President, IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand. Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, National President, IMA, New Delhi congratulated IMA Blood Bank for its great humanitarian work. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Hony. Joint Secretary, IMA, New Delhi appreciated the efforts of IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand and Indian Medical Association Uttarakhand State Branch and also shared the need and importance of the blood in the life of an individual. Shri Saurabh Bahuguna, Hon’ble Minister, Govt. of Uttarakhand emphasized on donating blood for a noble cause and appreciated the efforts of the medical fraternity for the services rendered during COVID. Further the felicitation ceremony was held by the presentation of mementoes & shawls to the Chief Guest, Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, National President, IMA, New Delhi, Guests of Honor, Dr. Dinesh Singh, Hony. Joint Secretary, IMA, New Delhi, Shri Saurabh Bahuguna, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Uttarakhand & Guest Speakers of the scientific session.
