Dehradun:A General House Meeting of retired Scientists/Officers/ employees of Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education was held today i.e. 08-06-2023 at 4.00 P.M in the mango groves of Forest Research Institute. The Central Government employees absorbed in the services of ICFRE are not being given pension from the April, 2023. The employees have so many times represented ICFRE and Ministry of Environment & Forests but the matter of pension is not resolved till date.
Whereas, the Ministry of Finance in their recent letter written to MoEF on 24-05-2023 has informed that in view of Rule 37 (B) of CCS (pension) rule,1972 pension of those Central Government employees who were on pension while in Central Government and were later absorbed in ICFRE consequent upon its formation as autonomous body is the liability of Government of India and they have already conveyed the approval of competent authority on 30-01-2019 to MoEF but MoEF has not demanded budget from the MoF in this regard. Now, in the General House of the retired Scientists/Officers/ employees today showed their resentment towards this issue as no any authority particularly MoEF seems to be serious on this sensitive and livelihood related issue. In the meeting retired employees demanded unanimously permanent solution of their pension issue and decided to submit representations.
