Him Jyoti School and Vantage hall sailed into football finals

Dehradun, May 12 – Kendriya Vidyalaya IIP scored an important 55-47 win over Drona Public School to advance to the next round in the Boys’ Under-17 kabaddi event at the Sports For All Championship, Uttarakhand 2022, held at the Parade Ground Multipurpose Hall here on Thursday. Cheered by a good crowd, the aggressive KV boys clinched a nail-biting win against Drona boys who went down fighting. In another match,  NKB Public School outclassed Swami Hariharanand Public School 54-8 to make their way to the second round. In girls’ under-18 football league stage, Him Jyoti School sailed into the finals after outplaying Raja Ram Mohan Roy School 7-0 and Vantage Hall School 6-0 respectively. 

Him Jyothi School will now clash with Vantage Hall School, who sneaked into the final after being held 2-2 by Raja Ram Mohan Roy School. However, Vantage School, with a goal difference of less than seven goals in their match against Him Jyoti School, booked a spot in the final match. The final is scheduled to be held on Friday at the Pavilion Ground. Elsewhere,  Hitesh Bisht of Cambrian Hall School defeated Archit Rawat of Khrist Jyoti Academy 21-19 in the third round of the boys’ Under-13 badminton event.  Kendriya Vidyalaya IIP’s Rishant Purohit prevailed over a fighting Dhruv Kant of Doon International School (City Campus Dehradun) 21-18. A dominant Prashant Panwar of St.Kabeer Academy whipped past Shaurya Painuly of Agape Mission School 21-4.  Ashish Yadav of Jamdagni Public School got the better of Paarth Kumar of St. Patrick’s Academy 21-19.

At SFA’s Judo event, in the girls’ under-14 -36kg weight category, Ayushi Rawat of Sapience School, Vikas Nagar, emerged victorious by beating Akshita from Pestle Weed School. In the 40 kg weight category, Shri Ram Centennial School’s Tanishka Pal pinned down Khushi Narang to take the gold. Kritika Rai of The Sapience School, Vikas Nagar clinched the gold beating Pestle Weed School’s Avantika Singh in the 44 kg weight category at the Parade Ground Multipurpose Hall on Thursday.
