Dehradun Ex-Services League (DESL) has stated in a press release that, under the aegis of President DESL Col US Thakur, (Retd) a farewell meeting for Covid Warrior Brig(Dr) VK Patra former Commandant Military Hospital(MH) and welcoming new MH Comdt Brig(Dr) MS Bisht was organised by DESL on 11 Nov in DSOI. During the meeting, Col Thakur reiterated that Brig Patra and his team of corona virus came as a boon during unpredictable and unprecedented situations when Covid-19 was spreading like Wildfire in our country and Army was no exception. All were very lucky to have such a debonair Commandant of MH Dehradun whose mere presence encouraged people under his command to work as a very well knitted team.
His excellent team of doctors, nursing assistants, and other helping staff had been doing very commendable work as corona warriors for the eradication of covid-19, in which he had been very successful.He personally without caring for his safety and well-being, worked in a true spirit of a soldier with invincible courage. He had been attending covid-19 patients twice a day to know their welfare and his mere presence used to boost up the morale of each patient.Brig Patra’s approach towards serving soldiers, veterans, and Veer Narees was very conducive and approachable which created willing obedience without feeling aggrieved.
His concern for Ex-Servicemen, Veer Narees, and their dependants showed a positive attitude towards their welfare which made him very dear to all. Col Thapa informed that Brig Patra who joined MH on 21 Dec 2019 and since then his endeavor had been to give the best to the organisation for the benefit of dependent clientele and gave special weightage to veterans and their families. He opened exclusive veterans ward, OPD, geriatric facilities like joint replacement, which was appreciated by all. During Covid-19, he tried his best to reach the doorsteps as well as to facilitate the best in the hospital for the vulnerable clientele of veterans for curative and vaccination services. He expressed that being an excellent administrator and good eye surgeon, performed dual responsibilities with utmost perfection and had set exemplary improvement in all the spheres for which he will be always remembered as one of the great human beings and harbingers of health tranquillity, and wellbeing of humanity.Brig Patra during his address thanked all station and AMC staff for extending their cooperation during his tenure and in particular during the Covid-19 period due to which he could perform his duties well.
He also thanked DESL for organizing the farewell meeting and extended his all help from his new posting station Eastern command hospital Kolkata.Brig MS Bisht a renowned doctor of AMC who has recently taken over as commandant of MH Dehradun and is equally very helpful for everyone and everyone is confident of him that he will take the health facilities and services in the station to further greater heights and during his address, he assured to render all possible help to everyone at any time during his tenure.
