Dehradun:‘Prakram Mahotsav’ (Bravery Festival) was celebrated by Shri Guru Ram Rai University to mark the occasion of 125 th anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. In the ‘Prakram Mahotsav’ (Bravery Festival) programme, Chief Guest Major General (Retd.) Dr. G.D.Bakshi interacted with the students of Shri Guru Ram Rai University. In his address, he shared many significant points
and knowledge about the freedom struggle of India. At the totally filled auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, the audiences took a dip in the ganges of patriotism and their praise slogans of Bharat Mata Ji Jai. Major General (Retd.) Dr. G.D. Bakshi started his address saying that the role of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was the most significant. Even after 75 years of independence, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and Azad Hind Fauj never got the respect which they deserved.
Today the nation demands that respect to be extended to them. For the independence of the nation, as much as 26,000 out of 60,000 soldiers laid down their lives and achieved martyrdom.
He appealed that a martyr’s memorial must be made in which the names of these 26,000 martyred soldiers must be written. He said that this will let the present and coming generations know about the greatness and martyrdom of these soldiers of Azad Hind Fauz. He said that a grand statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose will be inaugurated in front of National War Memorial near India Gate. All the
preparations from the side of Govt. of India has been made in this regard. He extended heartiest gratitude towards Prime Minister of India, Narender Modi.
He said that only the burning lamps can lighten the new lamps, lit out lamps cannot spread any light neither they can burn eth new ones. The nation is the most significant. He said that the history we were told is incomplete. A newview point is required to view the history only then the truth will be revealed in front of country and world showing the sacrifice of the martyrs and true history. Before this, the programme was initiated at the auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, organized by university’s School of Management & Commerce Studies, jointly by Chief Guest Major General (Retd.) G.D. Bakshi (Sena Medal, Vishith Sena Medal), his wife & Guest of Honour Mrs. Sunita Bakshi, and Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. U.S. Rawat by lamp lighting. In his address, Dr. U.S. Rawat did an analysis of the new education policy.
The Vice Chancellor attracted the attention of attention of the audiences and the Chief Guest towards the credible works of the university in the fields of imparting modern education, organic farming and research.
In the programme, deep obeisance and respect were paid to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose by Shri Guru Ram Rai University. During the whole programme, the spirit of patriotism dominated the youth. The whole auditorium echoed with the praise slogans of the Bharat Mata Ji jai and Indian Army. A Vote of Thanks was given by Dean, School of Management and Commerce Studies, Prof. Dr. Vipul Jain thanking all the guest and audiences. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

During the programme, extreme honour was paid to these two great sons of mother India. Major General (Retd.) G.D. Bakshi honoured parents of martyr Major Chitresh Bisht, Mrs. Rekha Bisht and Mr. S.S. Bisht as well as brother in law of martyr Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhaundiyal, Lt. Col. Vikas Nautiyal with the mementoes of Shri Darbar Sahib. N.C.C. CADETS OF SGRR UNIVERSITY HONOURED
The best N.C.C. cadets of Shri Guru Ram Rai University were honoured by Chief Guest Major General (Retd.) Dr. G.D. Bakshi. Sakshi Kotnala was awarded with the Best N.C.C. Cadet while Jaisal Bhardwaj was awarded with the Best In Drill N.C.C. Cadet Award.
