Dehradun: The Doon Girls’ School celebrated their 11th Annual Sports Day on 26th November 2022.The occasion was graced by Chief guest Mr Phillip Burrett, former Deputy Headmaster,Doon School. Sports teaches us to learn fair play, cooperation, sportsmanship. They help students understand the true meaning of team work and discipline. The School flag wasunfurled by the chief guest and the Chairman Mr. C.P. Dang. The events of the day started with March Past by all the four houses Koel, Myna , Robin and Myna House of The DoonGirls’ School and Prabhakar and Bhaskar House of the Dehradun Boys School. It was anhonor for School to have the band from the 8 Garhwal Rifles play for the March Past.
The day was full of fun filled events for students including Roll the ball, Blast the Balloon and Lemon Spoon race along with track events such as Hurdle, Relay and 50m, 100m, 200mraces. Everyone present there observed great level of enthusiasm by students and a sense
of team spirit that can only be seen in sports. The second part of the day was a display of students’ skill and coordination. Yoga , PT, Karate, and a wonderfully choreographed Aerobic Routine. The boys astonished all the guests present there with their Skating skills through their synchronized routine with the musical assistance by the school choir.
The Annual Sports day was concluded on an energetic note, with our chief Guest Philip Burrett, giving away the prizes to the deserving athletes’ along with a motivational speech, thus uplifting the spirit of the children. The event was graced by the Head of schools, C.P.Dang (Chairman), Monisha Datta(Director), Sumali Devgan (Principal), Mohini Chauhan (Vice Principal), Jagbir Singh (HOD Sports) who were all part of this wonderful, eventful day.
