Yi Dehradun Annual Car Rally: 3rd edition organized successfully

Dehradun: CII Young Indians Dehradun Chapter under its Road Safety vertical organized its 3rd edition of annual Car Rally 3.0 with the theme, ‘’let’s make Doon safe for the walkers’’. The rally started from Luxuria Farms by Solitaire, Canal Road and culminated at Hotel Solitaire Haridwar Bypass Road with 31 cars and over 120 participants. 

The Road Safety project was conceived by CII Young Indians under the Yi pillar of Nation Building. The objective of this project is to educate stakeholders on the importance of abiding traffic rules and imbibing in them a responsibility to take care of the fellow Indians, through various modules. Topics such as reducing noise pollution, improving driving etiquettes, lane discipline, first aid training are all part of this initiative.

Mr Daleep Singh Kunwar, SSP, Dehradun congratulated and appreciated Young Indians (Yi) Dehradun for their efforts and taking up Road Safety initiative and educating people about the importance of Road Safety. He stressed that through self-discipline we can avoid road accident, he further said we all know that drink and drive, rash driving is dangerous not only for your life but for others life too still there are people who put everyone’s lives at stake. Mr Kunwar added unless people are self-disciplined and give importance to road safety, it is difficult to reduce mishappening.

With the increasing traffic, the pedestrian and cyclist are amongst the worst affected. This Rally by Yi Dehradun aimed at creating awareness and make Dehradun Safe for Walkers and Cyclist shared Mr Harshit Gupta, Chair, Yi Dehradun.

Mr Archit Dawar, Chair, Road Safety Vertical during his address at the valedictory session expressed that focusing on road safety is imperative looking at the current scenario where there is significant increase in accidents in the city, he further shared it is the responsibility of every citizen to follow traffic safety rules and make Doon safe and accident-free city.

The car rally was one of its kind in the city encouraging women’s participation and was well received and appreciated by all the stakeholders

In the Women Category, the winning team comprised of Ms Meetu Bansal, Ms Jyoti Dabral and Ms Nupur Rathore won the first prize and the Runners up team was of Ms Nupur Gulati, Ms Karishma Balachandani and Ms Chitra Lamba. In the Open Category winners were Mr Chirag Behl, Ms Akshata Saxena, Ms Apoorva Malik and Mr Hitesh Kumar Singh while the team of Mr Abhinav Chauhan, Ms Sukriti Chauhan, Mr Karan Lamba and Mr Navjot Singh stood as Runner Up.  The team of Mr Tarun Goyal, Mr Abhishek Agarwal and Mr Ankit Aggarwal won in the Yi Members Category and the Runners up were Mr Shubham Gupta, Dr Drishti Bansal and Mr Nitish Gupta
