MORE THAN 200 ANAESTHESIOLOGISTS AND RESEARCHERS PRESENTED THEIR RESEARCH PAPERS

Dehradun. 08th October 2022. Under the guidance of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology, the 11th State level Uttarakhand’s Conference (UKISACON) was organized at Dehradun. The Two Days State level Conference was organized jointly by Uttarakhand Chapter of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology & Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.

In this State level Conference organized on the subject “Enhancing peri-operative outcome and patient safety”, more than 200 Anaesthesia specialist doctors and subject exponents participated who had come from Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Doctors and Research Scholars presented their research papers through online and offline mode. Dr. Vinay Rai, Ex Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his significant contribution in the discipline of Anaesthesia.

On Saturday, the State Level Uttarakhand’s Conference was begun jointly by the Chief Guest Dr. Hem Chandra Pande,vice Chancellor, Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Medical University, Guest of Honour, Dr. U.S. Rawat, Vice Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Guest of Honour, Dr. Deepak Malviya, Ex President Indian Society of Anaesthesiology and Robina Makker, Organizing Chairperson of the conference by lamp lightening. It’s worth mentioning that the National Unit of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology selects any state every year to organize the State Level Conference.

This year Uttarakhand was chosen for the organizing of this State Level Conference. ISACON is the best platform for Anaesthesia specialist doctors to communicate with one another as well as share knowledge. Chief Guest Dr. Hem Chandra Pandey in his address to the gathering said that in general the role of Surgeon is considered as significant in any surgery, but the fact is that the anaesthetist also plays a crucial role in any surgery. The Anaesthesia specialist doctors creates favourable, pain free atmosphere for the surgeon to carry out the surgery. He said that the even the imagination of surgery is impossible without anaesthesia. He said that in order to recognize the significance of Anaesthesia, 16th October is celebrated the world over as World Anaesthesia Day.

Guest of Honour Dr. Uday Singh Rawat in his address to the gathering said that the role of Anaesthesiologist is the most crucial to counter any complications that might arise before, during or after the operation. He said that the world over modern researches are being conducted to counter such medical complications. He said that this conference is a unique platform for the researchers and young anaesthesiologists to understand the significant factors for their success in their careers as anaesthesiologists.

Guest of honour Dr. Deepak Malviya, Ex Director, RML, Lucknow, in his address threw light over one of the most significant objectives of Anaesthesia which is minimizing the mortality rate. Acting Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. Puneet Ohri, in his address gave a brief outline of the role of Deptt. of Anaesthesia at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. He said that the Deptt. of Anaesthesia of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital successfully caters to the surgeries not only by general surgeons, but also by a number of super specialists from neuro, onco, uro, etc.
Senior Anaesthesiologist Dr. Viany Rai gave a lecture over the topic ‘Perioperative management of Diabetic patients’. He explained in detail about the precautions to be observed by diabetic patients before, during and after the operations. He also shared medical management tips for countering any such situation by these patients. Dr. Yashwant Singh Payal from All India Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Rishikesh gave presentation on ‘The perioperative outcome in a pediatric patient’ while Dr. Nidhi Bhatia from Post graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh presented the topic ‘Current concepts in the early management of trauma’.

Presentations were also given by President, Indian Society of Anaesthesiology, Dr. Geeta Bhandari, Organizing Chairperson of the Conference Dr. Robina Makker, Organizing Co-Chairperson Dr. Atul Kumar Singh, Organizing Secretary Dr. Ashutosh and Organizing Treasurer Dr. Anoop Negi. Stage anchoring was done by Dr. Tejaswini. The conference was also attended enthusiastically by the HODs, faculties, doctors, staff and medical students of all the departments of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences.
