Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Tennis Team went for the CISCE Regional Tennis Championship to Agra from 26th to 28th August 2022. The event was held at St Peters School, Agra and teams from Lucknow zone A, Kanpur Zone, Pragyaraj Zone etc were present for the UP-UK Regional round. The Under-19 Boys team consisting of Riyan Dutta, Arnav Behl, Angad Singh from St Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun stood Runners-up. Riyan Dutta and Angad Singh were selected for the Nationals to be held at Kolkata this September.
The Under-17 Boys team comprising of Amrit Dhankar , Naivedya Mittal and Kushagra Aditya Jha of St Joseph’s Academy and Varchasva Thapliyal of Touchwood School after facing tough competition finished second with Varchasva Thapliyal qualifying for the Nationals . The Under -14 Boys team comprising of Ranavijay Singh Gahlot and Arjun Singh of St Joseph’s Academy stood 2nd Runners -up .
In the Girls Category, Under-17 team Uttarakhand team defeated Lucknow Zone B in the final and emerged as Winners . Katayani Rawat of Brightlands School was selected for the Nationals along with Vaanya Thapliyal of Welham Girls School, Dehradun. The U-14 girls team and U-19 Girls team both stood 1st Runners- up in their respective categories .
