Dehradun: Renowned Bollywood Actor Hemant Pande bowed down at Shri Darbar Sahib. He was extremely impressed with the beauty and sacredness of Shri Darbar Sahib. He also closely looked at the ancient art works (Bhitti Chitras) of Shri Darbar Sahiband took information about about their historical significance. He was impressed to know about the significance of Shri Darbar Sahib in the history and nomenclature of Dehradun. He had a formal meeting with Shri Darbar Sahib’s Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj who showered his divine blessings over him.
Hemant Pande said that he has an emotional attachment with the state of Uttarakhand. That’s why, he keeps on visiting Uttarakhand’s different areas from time to time. How did Dehradun get its nomenclature as Dehradun? He understood the historical and religious background of Shri Darbar Sahib. He took profound interest in taking information from Shri Maharaj Ji on the various Shri Mahant Sahibans of Shri Darbar Sahib becoming Gaddinashin, their tenure at Shri Darbar Sahib, the historical subjects and messages conveyed by the ancient art works (Bhitti Chitras) made on the walls of Shri Darbar Sahib. Hemant Pande said that Shri Darbar Sahib is a precious heritage not only for Uttarakhand but for the whole of India. He said that he felt blessed to avail ‘Darshan’ of this precious heritage which has a rich philosophical and religious background.
