CII EXCON AID TO BUILD ‘NEW INDIA’  AND BECOME 2ND LARGEST CE MARKET IN THE WORLD

Dehradun, 12 April.Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a roadshow in the city today to announce EXCON which witnessed the participation of senior officials from the Government along with industry leaders and stakeholders from the infrastructure and construction equipment sector.EXCON, South Asia’s largest construction equipment and construction technology trade fair, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to be held from 17 – 21 May 2022 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru. EXCON will spread over 3,00,000 square meters of display area and is expected to attract over 1000 exhibitors from India & abroad including countries like USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, UAE, South Korea, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The 5-day exhibition would attract over 40,000 business visitors from all over the world. Sunil Uniyal Gama, Mayor of Dehradun, was the Chief Guest. Other distinguished speakers at the Session were, Bipen Gupta, Vice Chairman, CII Uttarakhand State Council; Shashi Mohan Srivastava, Chief Town & Country Planner, Uttarakhand & Jitendra Tyagi, MD, Uttarakhand Metro Rail, Urban Infrastructure & Buildings Construction Corporation Limited; Mr Sanjay Tyagi, Chairman, CIDC, Builders Association of India & Jit Kumar Gupta, Chairman, IGBC Chandigarh Chapter. While addressing the roadshow, Mr Gopi Krishna More, Managing Director, Torsa Machines Limited said, “Building India for a New World is the theme of EXCON. The trade fair will demonstrate the role of smart technologies and innovation and how they can enhance India’s infrastructure development. Our ambition is to make India the global hub for Construction Equipment Manufacturing by 2030.”Indian CE industry, being the 3rd largest market in the world, currently holds a prominent position in the global CE landscape. Government of India’s ambitious INR 111 Lakh Crore National Infrastructure Pipeline would augur well for the Indian Construction Equipment industry to become the 2nd largest CE market in the world, with a size of USD 25 billion by 2030, said Mr Gopi Krishna More.EXCON endeavors to build India’s infrastructure in an ecologically sustainable manner, enabling projects on Smart Cities, supporting Swachh Bharat programs, promoting skill development and positioning “Make In India” – as the National Agenda for achieving holistic growth in the infrastructure and related sectors. Some of the highlights of EXCON include an exclusive focus on Alternate Fuels, Ai Pavilion, Finance Plaza, Skills, Women operating construction equipment and machinery, Equal opportunity awards for women, MSMEs, Digital Transformation besides sustainability & safety among others.Ms Sonia Garg, Chairperson CII Uttarakhand State Council said, “Embracing world-class technologies for speedy implementation of infrastructure projects is the current need of the State. The main purpose of EXCON is to bring world-class players in the construction equipment sector together to deliver the best in class technologies and cost-effective solutions. We also aim to bring more awareness amongst all stakeholders on the latest developments in CE Industry.”“The allocation of Rs.20,000 crore in the Union Budget for PM Gati Shakti – multi-modal connectivity for the States with focus on Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports and Waterways besides expansion of 25,000 kms of National Highway Network in 2022-23 would give a tremendous push for infrastructure development in the country”, said Ms Sonia Garg.Excon addresses both marketing and educational platform for all stakeholders. Government and Senior Bureaucrats capitalised it as a knowledge platform for various departments (PWD’s and Civil Engineering Departments), Private contractors, Builders, Road/ Infrastructure developers, Smart City/ Urban Planning, Army, Border Roads Organisation, etc. to witness the latest Technology, Equipment’s and Machinery display which will enable accelerated Infrastructure development needs of the nation.Leading construction equipment manufacturers at the exhibition would demonstrate the versatility of machines, sophistication in construction technologies and more importantly showcase the cost effective solutions for builders and contractors for speedy implementation of projects with focus on quality, safety and environmental sustainability.
