Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Vipin Chandra retires

Dehradun: After putting in more than 35 years of service in the Income Tax Department, Vipin Chadra, I.R.S., who belongs to village Dabri of Tehsil Dhoomakot in Poudi Garwal of Uttrakhand, took voluntary retirement effective from 15 February to join his new assignment as the Information Commissioner in the Uttrakhand Information Commission.

On this occasion to bid a farewell to the retiring officer, Aayakar Pariwaar, Dehradun organised a farewell function which was attended by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Gaziabad, Krinwant Sahay, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Aligarh, Ashok Saroha and Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) Dehradun Narendra Singh Jangpangi. Speaking on the occasion, Suneel Verma, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Dehradun expressed gratitude to Vipin Chandra for his valuable services rendered to the Department. Dr.Tulika Chandra, wife of Vipin Chandra, also graced the occasion. Before joining the Indian Revenue Service in 1987, Vipin Chandra had also served as officer in the Indian Forest Service.

While on deputation, he has also discharged his duties as Joint Secretary in different ministries of Government of India. Besides being a great admirer and follower of human rights and values, Vipin Chandra is also a very competent and effective  administrator who has left indelible impression of his being in the Income Tax Department.
